Biography:
Consultant Eye Surgeon Behrooz Golchin qualified in Medicine at Trinity College, Dublin and trained in Ophthalmology in Belfast and London. He also spent one year in Sydney, Australia gaining fellowship in Corneal Transplantation and Refractive Surgery. Mr Golchin is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is included in the Irish and British Register of Medical Specialists. Mr Golchin has extensive experience in phacoemulsification and small incision cataract surgery with foldable intraocular lenses and corneal transplant. He has trained in Lasik, Excimer Laser Surgery and was one of the first surgeons to carry out Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) surgery in Ireland. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Mr Golchin previously worked at the Allclear Clinic, Belfast and was a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Mater Hospital in Belfast. He has several publications in peer reviewed journals and presented at many scientific meetings

Consultant Eye Surgeon James O’Reilly graduated in Medicine from UCD in 1992 and commenced training in Ophthalmic Surgery in Ireland. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 1996 and the Diploma of the European Board of Ophthalmology in 1997. After completion of Higher Surgical Training in 2001, he was included by the Medical Council in the Registrar of Medical Specialists. Mr O’Reilly subspecialised in Corneal Transplantation and Laser Refractive Surgery at the renowned Corneoplastic Unit at East Grinstead in the UK. This was the site of the first Eye Bank in the UK and is one of the foremost institutions in the field of corneal transplantation and refractive surgery. Mr O’Reilly is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has published articles in peer reviewed journals and presented at numerous scientific meetings.

Consultant Eye Surgeon Tom Stumpf graduated in Medicine with Honours and Distinction in Clinical Medicine from the University of Southampton in 1992. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 1997 and then completed his higher ophthalmic surgery training in Bristol in 2005. His name is included on the Register of Medical Specialists in both Ireland and the UK. Tom sub specialised in anterior segment eye surgery with 3 internationally recognised fellowships, in Bristol, Cardiff and Auckland, New Zealand. He gained extensive experience in the management of complex cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, glaucoma and refractive surgery. He is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Tom has also been awarded a Doctorate Degree by the University of Bristol for his research on herpetic infections of the eye and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented at numerous national and international scientific meetings. Tom lives in Waterford with his family.
