Biography:
Trained in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She has dual sub-specialty training: she further trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the National Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., as well as in Neuro-ophthalmology at the National Eye Institute of the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She began her academic career in 1984 at Georgetown University. She is full Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown University and has spent several years as the Head of the Pediatric Ophthalmology and the Neuro-Ophthalmology Departments at the University Hospital, also as the Residency Program Director for Georgetown University.

Within a span of over two decades in academic ophthalmology, Dr. Chrousos has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers, performed multi-center clinical trials and she has presented her research multiple times at American and international scientific meetings. Dr Ioannis Stavrakas

Biography:
Trained in Ophthalmology in the UK. He trained at the Royal Eye Infirmary, Essex Hospital and Kent Hospital. He further sub-specialized in Vitreo-retinal diseases and Vitreo-retinal surgery at the Birmingham University Eye Clinic. He held the position of Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the North Middlesex & Harlow Hospital in London. During over ten years of practice in the UK, Dr. Stavrakas gained significant surgical experience in the entire spectrum of ophthalmic surgery, with a particular emphasis on Vitreo-Retinal Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a Diplomate of the European Board of Ophthalmology. Since 1998, he’s been in private practice in Athens, with a sub-specialty interest in vitreo-retinal surgery.

Has specialized in Refractive, Corneal and Cataract surgery. After graduating from the Medical School of the University of Athens with high honors, he did a research fellowship in glaucoma at Mayo Clinic, followed by an internship in Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College. He trained in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He pursued further sub-specialty training in Cornea & External Disease, Cataract and Refractive Surgery at the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Eye Institute with Dr. Edward Holland. He also holds a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University.

He has produced multiple presentations at international meetings, peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in international journals and chapters in textbooks on Cornea, Refractive Surgery and Cataract Surgery. Delete delete add
