They are superb as are the resultsMaureen, UK, 23 02 23

Just back home from Prague. I had livelong astigmatism and had recently developed cataracts. I was afraid of not being able to drive so after considering a few quotes I settled for Refrakcni Centrum. I m amazed that I did because I would say it easily has to be among the top clinics for eye surgery. Dr Novak is nothing short of a magician and the care team is second to none. I wasn't anxious or nervous but I didn't expect it to be so comfortable. Absolutely pain free. The cost was less than a third of what I would have paid here in Scotland. So if you have such eye problems and are considering surgery contact this clinic. They are superb as are the results. Couldn't wish for better.

Cataract Surgery from 19500 Kč
During cataract surgery, the surgeon first removes the cloudy natural lens from the eye and in most cases replaces it with a clear artificial intraocular lens. The surgery is usually ambulatory and does not require hospitalisation. Most modern cataract surgeries are carried out using a high-frequency ultrasound device that divides the cloudy lens into minuscule pieces. These fragments are subsequently gently suctioned out of the eye. This method, known as  phacoemulsification (or simply phaco), is performed using much smaller incisions than were used in previous surgical techniques for the elimination of a cataract. These incisions enable faster healing and reduce the risk of complications such as for example the detachment of the retina.  Once all the bits of the affected lens are removed from within the eye, the surgeon inputs the clear new artificial intraocular lens. The surgeon then secures the lens in the area beyond the iris and pupil – into the exact same spot where your natural lens was original. The surgeon then completes the procedure by closing the incisions in the eye (sutures may or may not be used) and a protective bandage is placed over the eye.

RLE - Refractive Lens Exchange
RLE - Refractive Lensectomy from 19500 Kč
RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange) is a general name for a method, whereby a transparent lens (without any signs of cataract) is replaced by an artificial lens (monofocal or multifocal). This method is used in patients with any of the following: short-sightedness, long-sightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia. The surgery takes place as part of an outpatient clinic and the operated eye is desensitised using eye drops. At the same time medication dilating the pupil is administered, so that the lens positioned behind the colourful iris, becomes accessible for the surgical procedure. In patients that are very nervous or anxious, it is possible to administer a calming pill. The procedure itself takes about 15 minutes. In some clinics, both eyes are operated on at the same time. At our clinic, we opt to only operate one eye at a time for several reasons. The other eye is operated on within 2 days from the first surgery. The main surgical incision is done through the cornea. Depending on the type of implant, the incision is most commonly 2 to 2.5 mm wide and because of its self-sealing property, there is no need for sutures.

I found all the staff polite and professionalJack, UK, 10 11 22

The whole experience has been top class. I chose Praga Medica as they were competitive in pricing and because the reviews online were positive. Daniela was most helpful in communications lead up to the actual treatment sessions, clear and concise. I found all the staff at NeoVize polite and professional. A translator was provided however this was not really needed. The clinic is very easy to find, a two minute walk from the metro station in Prague. The actual surgery (I had monofocal lens replacement) was less than ten minutes for each eye (performed on separate days) and was painless. I have to say that I am astounded by the results and can see brilliantly for the first time in my life. I cannot recommend Praga Medica highly enough. The surgery has been life changing!
