He was born and raised in country NSW, before moving to Sydney to study Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital and subsequently underwent fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, in his subspecialty interest areas of corneal, cataract and refractive surgery. His subspecialty training encompassed modern partial-thickness corneal grafting techniques (DSAEK, DALK and included laser-assisted corneal grafts), intracorneal ring segment implantation, corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL), corneal laser refractive surgery (LASIK and ASLA/PRK) and phakic intraocular lens implantation (eg ICL), and cataract surgery, particularly in corneal and anterior segment disease. He trained using multiple different laser refractive surgery platforms for correction of refractive errors. Dr Daya Sharma’s particular interests include management of astigmatism in cataract surgery using advanced corneal measurements, modern surgical management of keratoconus and other ectatic corneal diseases and management of corneal endothelial failure. He has expertise in multiple different types of refractive (vision correction) surgery, and is interested in management of complex cases, such as post-LASIK ectasia and high astigmatism after corneal transplant.

BSc (Med), MBBS, FRANZCO Cataract Surgeon, Medical Retina, treatment for wrinkles, Paediatrics & Strabismus, & Glaucoma Dr Shanel Sharma has special interests in cataract surgery, Medical Retina, Paediatrics, Strabismus and treatment for wrinkles for clinical therapy. Dr Sharma trained in ophthalmology at Prince of Wales Hospital before becoming the Professorial Senior Registrar at Sydney Eye Hospital. Dr Sharma has undertaken Postgraduate fellowships in Strabismus at the Western Eye Hospital in London, as well as a Paediatric and Strabismus Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, the largest specialist Eye hospital in Europe. Dr Sharma also undertook medical retina clinics including performing intravitreal injections at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Dr Sharma has been a consultant at Sydney Eye Hospital and at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Sharma is trained and accredited to treat patients for ophthalmic conditions such as squints, hemifacial spasm, and blepharospasm, and also has experience treating patients for hyperhidrosis. Dr Sharma is also accredited as a Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist.

BSc(Med) MBBS(Hons) MPH MMed (Refract Surg) FRANZCO Dr Neil Sharma is an ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract surgery, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, refractive surgery and glaucoma. Dr Sharma graduated from medicine with honours from the University of New South Wales. During his university years, Neil was awarded the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) undergraduate Prize and Medal, and the NSW Department of Health Rural General Practice prize. Neil also received a research scholarship at the Pancreas Transplant Unit, Prince of Wales Hospital. Dr Sharma trained as a junior doctor at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He was awarded the Royal Prince Alfred Patron’s Prize for his research in ophthalmology. He undertook his advanced specialist training in ophthalmology based at Sydney Eye Hospital. Neil then completed a fellowship in ophthalmology at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine and Macquarie University Hospital.
