Mr Hall qualified as a doctor in 1995 from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He completed basic surgical training in Bristol and attained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000. He spent 18 months gaining experience in Head & Neck cancer care at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London before returning to the South West to complete a further 6 years of specialist training in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery across the region. In 2008 he undertook a 12 month surgical fellowship attached to the Peter Macallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. During this time he gained specialist skills in head and neck, thyroid and skin cancer surgery and developed a further interest in assessment and management of voice and swallowing disorders. He returned to the UK to take up his consultant appointment in Gloucester in 2009.

Mr Hall is the Co-Chair of the Head and Neck Three Counties Cancer Network for Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire. He has an active interest in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education regularly teaching junior doctors and other healthcare professionals. He has peer-reviewed publications on a wide range of ENT topics and continues to take an active interest in clinical research and audit. He continues to keep himself up to date with the latest surgical innovations through courses, conferences and clinical visits. He recently visited the Center for Laryngeal Surgery and Voice Rehabilitation in Boston, USA to learn new laser techniques for voice problems from Professor Steven Zeitels.

As the founding member of ENTRUST, Mr Wheatley has the skills and experience you require to secure the right outcome. Mr Wheatley graduated from Birmingham University in 1991. Following clinical attachments in surgical specialities, he trained in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery in Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. A fellowship year in Melbourne, Australia saw Mr Wheatley specialising in facial plastic surgery and head and neck cancer at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

In 2002, he was awarded the CCST – Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training – and became a Consultant Surgeon in Cheltenham and Gloucester. Mr Wheatley is listed on the GMC specialist register for ENT surgery and is a member of the British Association of Otolaryngologists/Head and Neck Surgeons and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgeons. He also holds an NHS appointment at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is a consultant at the Winfield Hospital, Gloucester and the Nuffield Hospital, Cheltenham.

Basic medical training and surgical speciality training at Charing Cross and St Mary’s University Hospitals, London, including experience in plastic surgery, paediatric surgery and Accident & Emergency.

Subsequent specialist training in Otorhinolaryngology encompassing all aspects of Otology, Rhinology and Head and Neck surgery. Visiting fellow at Yale University School of Medicine, USA in 1995 to study the management of head and neck cancer and to the University of Leuven, Belgium in 1998 to study endoscopic nasal surgery. Written papers in UK, European and North American Journals and oral presentations at national and international meetings on a variety of Otorhinological topics. Surgical demonstrations and teaching in Malaya and Burma.

Substantive appointment to the post of NHS Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist – Head and Neck Surgeon at Cheltenham General and Gloucester Royal Hospitals in February 1999. Former lead clinician in Head and Neck cancer management for the county of Gloucestershire and Clinical Director for ENT Services in Gloucestershire from 2003 to 2007.

Current interests involve the management of patients with voice and swallowing problems, undertaking specialist clinics for these conditions. He has a special interest in thyroid surgery and the management of salivary gland problems. He undertakes Rhinoplasty and Septorhinoplasty procedures following nasal trauma and to improve nasal function, also cosmesis and assessment of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.

Recent contribution of several chapters in ‘A diagnostic Atlas of Tumours of the Head and Neck’ published by Informa Healthcare.
