Biography:
Head of the Airway Sector of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery, Lausanne University Hospital Currently, Dr Sandu heads the Airway Sector of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery, Lausanne University Hospital. This sector is recognized as centre de médecine hautement spécialisée (centre for highly specialized medicine) by the Swiss federal government and the University of Lausanne. He has been an active member of the Lausanne airway team for more than 10 years. He has published extensively in peer reviewed international journals and has written several book chapters on the pediatric and adult compromised airway. He is a reviewer of articles for the Laryngoscope, the Annals of Otorhinolaryngology and the International Journal of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is the Editor to the Advisory Board, Yonsei Medical Journal, Korea.

Prof Philippe Monnier

Biography:
Credited of performing the first cricotracheal resection CTR in a child and has the largest series of pediatric CTRs in the world. He is really the driving force behind the Lausanne Airway Team. He is credited with numerous original publications and book chapters. His laryngotracheal mold (Monnier’s LT mold) has been a path breaking contribution in the field of compromised airway. A true master of surgical inventions and innovations, Prof Monnier travels extensively all over the world lecturing on various airway pathologies. His book on Pediatric laryngotracheal stenosis is considered as an important reference in the airway literature. Presently, Philippe Monnier is Emeritus Professor at the University of Lausanne.
