Keith Postlethwaite qualified from Bristol Dental School in 1974 and Birmingham Medical School in 1982. He trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK, and abroad at the University of California (San Francisco) and at the Free University of Amsterdam.
His qualifications are FRCS, FRCS(Ed), FDSRCS, MBChB, BDS.
He was appointed as a consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals in 1990 and has developed a sub-specialty interest in the treatment of developmental and post-traumatic facial deformity together with dental implantology and associated grafts and reconstructions.
He has been actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate education. Until recently he was the training program director for higher surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the Northern Deanery. He also lectures on a number of implant courses in the UK.
He retired from NHS practice in April 2011 and now provides a private referral service for all aspects of implantology, oral surgical conditions and maxillofacial procedures, including some cosmetic treatments.
