He joined YDH as Chief Executive in May 2012. Paul was previously Chief Operating Officer at South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust where he was responsible for leading operational services in Torbay Hospital. He also has considerable experience of working in community services having been Director of Operations at Torbay Care Trust where he was responsible for integrating community health and social care services in one of the leading examples of integrated care in the UK. He joined the NHS in 2003 on the Gateway to Leadership programme having worked for British Airways, Eurostar and consultancy previously in his career.

He began his post as Chairman in January 2016. Previous to that he was a non-executive director at the Trust. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, is Chairman of the British Furniture Confederation and Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the UK. He was in practice in London for almost 30 years specialising in many clients’ business development following which he has led the UK arm of an international group for 11 years. Paul joined the Board in June 2012.

Deputy Chief Executive. Having graduated from the University of London in 1989, Jon worked throughout the South and South West of England, training in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine. Much of his postgraduate training was in Bristol and Plymouth, as well as some time in Australia. He took on his first Consultant appointment in Gwent in 1998 and subsequently moved to YDH in 2004. As Lead Consultant in Intensive Care he headed the development of a new state of the art Intensive Care Unit which opened in 2007. Having taken on a number of leadership roles within the organisation, Jon was appointed Medical Director in 2010 and Deputy CEO 2012. Still a practicing clinician half time, Jon shares his time between clinical and managerial responsibilities.
