After grammar school chose Dr. Baars to study medicine at the University of Groningen. During his military service he was employed as a physician assistant internal medicine. He then worked as a physician assistant in cardiology hospital Leyenburg in The Hague.
In 1987 he started his training as a cardiologist. The first two years, the general part, was followed in Leyenburg Hospital in The Hague. In 1989 began the fourth year cardiology specialization, again in the Leyenburg hospital and in the Leiden University Hospital.
In 1993 Dr. Baars registered as a cardiologist. From 1993 to 1994 Dr. Baars as Chef de Clinique Cardiology at the Martini Hospital Groningen worked. From 1994 to 2011 he worked / Waalwijk / Oisterwijk in Two Cities Hospital in Tilburg. Cardiologist as general
Since 2008 he is also as genetically cardiologist at the cardiology department of the University Medical Center Utrecht employed. From 2010 he works as a consultant for genetic cardiology IMED Hospitales Levante and Elche in Spain. Since April 2011 he has been a general cardiologist at Bergman Clinics in Bilthoven employed .

Besides his work as a doctor is Dr. Baars as trainer cardiology and cardiac catheterization active. He is also the organizer and chairman of the annual Tilburg including Cardiology Symposium.
Dr. Bass is a member of the Lipids Polyclinic Network in the Netherlands and the Hereditary Heart Diseases Working Group of the Interuniversity Cardiology Institute of the Netherlands.
