Biography:
Dr Karen McGrath graduated from University College Cork in 1999. After completing her internship in Cork and Limerick, she lived in Australia until 2002 working in Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Dr McGrath completed her vocational GP training in London, where she worked at the North Middlesex Hospital in the departments of Medicine for the Elderly, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology and in a large GP surgery in Enfield. She achieved MRCGP qualification in 2005. She was also awarded diplomas in Family-Planning Medicine and in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in London. Dr McGrath has been working in Dublin since 2005. She qualified with a Higher Diploma in Dermatology in 2008 and gained MICGP in 2011. Dr McGrath is registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP). She continues training and updating in general practice medicine and regularly attends GP educational meetings and conferences. Dr McGrath attends local Primary Care Team meetings and works regular sessions with the D-Doc out of hours service. Dr McGrath is an active trainer on the North Dublin City GP Training scheme since 2013.
