Karen Kinsella

Biography:
Karen qualified from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 2000. Karen’s first post was as a Basic Grade Physiotherapist in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where she completed rotations through the various physiotherapy specialties including stroke rehabilitation, orthopaedics, respiratory care and outpatient’s musculo-skeletal care. Karen then took some time out to travel in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She gained valuable experience in Syndey Balmain Rehabilitation Hospital working with clients with various neurological conditions such as stroke, head injuries, Parkinson’s disease. In 2005, following her return to Ireland, Karen commenced working in the Children’s University Hospital, Temple Street as a Senior Physiotherapist in Neurology. This is where Karen specialised in neonates, neurology and neurosurgical care. In 2011, Karen took up a post in the primary care setting and established a paediatric primary care service in the Dublin South Central area. This has provided the opportunity to work with colleagues in the community settings and gain valuable experience in treating children with conditions not typically seen in the hospital setting. Karen completed a certified Stott Pilates Instructor course in 2007. She also completed and achieved a distinction in two Psychology modules with the Open University – Exploring Psychology in 2010 and Child Development in 2011.

Caroline Griffin

Biography:
Caroline qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1999 with a BSc Physiotherapy (Hons). She spent the following 5 years working in Sports and Rehabilitation Clinics. Caroline initially worked in Limerick before travelling and working for 3 years in clinics in both Australia and Bermuda. She gained experience working with rugby teams, australian football teams, junior national athletes and individuals with general musculoskeletal and work related injuries. On returning to Dublin, Caroline took a position as Senior Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in Paediatrics in the Children’s University Hospital where she spent 5 years helping to develop the outpatient service and gaining amazing experience.Caroline currently works as a Senior Physiotherapist with an Early Intervention Team , in Community Paediatrics and privately with Physiothroughplay. She has over 12 years experience working in clinics and both public and private hospitals. She has a diverse background in the core areas of orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, paediatrics, and neurology. In 2007 Caroline travelled to Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Northern India and while immersed in ashram life she completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training. She is currently completing her 500 hour training in Dublin.Caroline completed a certified Stott pilates (beginners, intermediate and advanced) matwork course in 2006. She completed her Clinical Pilates training (Dance Medicine Australia) in 2008 which includes matwork and equipment exercises. Caroline has also completed pre and postnatal pilates training with the Australain Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute.
