Dr Alun Evans BSc (Hons), MB BS, MRCP is an NHS Consultant Dermatologist at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
Dr Evans qualified as a doctor in London in 1994 and undertook his specialty training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology. Following this he also completed a clinical fellowship in Dermatological Surgery and Lasers, also at the Institute of Dermatology.
During his medical training Dr Evans has worked at various hospitals in London including Guys & St Thomas, St Marys, The Royal London and The Hammersmith Hospitals.
Dr Evans gained specialist accreditation with the General Medical Council in 2003 and came to Wales in 2004 to take up his consultant post at the Princess of Wales and Neath Port Talbot Hospitals. He now heads the Dermatology Laser Service at the Princess of Wales Hospital which receives referrals from across South Wales including Cardiff and Swansea.
Dr Evans is experienced in all aspects of dermatology, with special interests in skin cancer and screening, and skin surgery. He has authored/co-authored 28 peer reviewed publications on dermatology and lasers.
Dr Evans also offers cosmetic laser treatments such as tattoo removal, thread vein treatment and hair removal in Bridgend. He has been trained in London and the United States in the use of [Treatment name removed]® for wrinkle reduction.
In November 2007 he was the recipient of Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust’s coveted Innovation and Modernisation Award for introducing a GP camera referral scheme across the Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot areas.
Dr Evans is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, British Association of Dermatologists, British Society of Dermatological Surgery and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Society.
