Dr Gary Lenden

Job Title:
  General Practitioner
Biography:
MB, BS.DFFP, MRCGP, DipPresc Sc. London 1989 I am a Plymothian by birth and qualified at St Bartholomews Hospital, London in 1989. After working in two previous practices, I joined Pathfields in 2006. I offer all elements of General Practice and have an extended interest in all aspects of Minor Surgery, including joint injections and hormone implants. I have been a Medical Student Trainer since the inception of the Medical School and after a hiatus in training we are returning to offer this in 2011. I also act as a Trainer to Doctors during their pre-registration phase in their GP attachment (F2 Doctors) and am a GP Registrar Trainer in Devon Doctors, for which I have a regular commitment. I am an Appraiser for other GPs in Plymouth. Much of my time is now taken up with the development of Sentinel Southwest CIC as one of the first wave of Pathfinder Consortia in the UK. I am one of 7 Directors of this and we will be integral to the development of all services in the Plymouth and surrounding areas for the forseeable future. To complement the local commissioning role, I am also part of the National Clinical Commissioning Network and work as Planned Care Lead for NHS Plymouth, which is a role working closely with the Hospital to improve all services offered for the community. This role has resulted in the development of the Dematology and Orthopaedic services at Mount Gould. I set up the community Minor Operations service at Mount Gould and have a regular session there, providing surgery out of Derriford for Plymouth.
