Dr. Sharad Paul

Born in England, and grew up in India. He runs a busy medical practice specializing in skin cancer surgery and divides his time between Australia and New Zealand. Sharad holds senior academic positions in skin cancer surgery at the universities of Queensland and Auckland. He has received several commendations for his work in the field of cutaneous surgery and skin cancer surgery: 2001: Clinical Achievement Award for 'outstanding clinical achievement' in the field of skin cancer surgery (awarded by Waitemata District Health Board; Sharad was at that time a visiting consultant in the department of General Surgery and held operating rights 1999-2009) 2003: Health Innovation Award -- NZ Govt. Ministry of Health (for setting up the country's first primary-secondary care integrated skin cancer service that now serves as a model for other projects) Sharad has been recently commissioned to co-author Clinical Cases in Skin Cancer Surgery and Treatment, a medical textbook to be published by Springer (USA) in 2015. Sharad is a Director of the Baci Group that has included Baci Lounge, a bookstore/café and Baci Cosmetologie, an innovative skin care company and Baci Foundation, a charity that funds literacy programmes.

Graduated in 1988 and was a Gold Medalist in her final exams at Bharatiyar University in Southern India. She spent the next decade in General Practice in Southern Africa. In New Zealand, she has been in rural General Practice in Wellsford and has worked as a resident doctor in the public health system. She has an interest in Women's health, having spent considerable time in the Gynaecology wards.

Qualified as a Registered General Nurse in the United Kingdom in 1986. Has extensive experience in Primary Care since 1992 and in 1998 achieved a Diploma in Health Education in Community Healthcare within Practice Nursing. She has a keen interest in Skin Cancers and Wound Care. She also runs our diabetic, asthma and well woman/man clinics.
