Biography:
Melbourne-raised Dr Eric Taft is a physician specialising in dermatology. His private practice has been located in the Melbourne municipality since 1957 because it offers a convenient, central location for his patients from throughout Victoria. Since completing postgraduate studies in London and specialist training in the USA, Dr Taft has focused his career on contributing to Melbourne’s hospitals (including public hospitals) and people, and teaching medical students. Dr Taft’s contribution to the field of medicine, and especially dermatology, was recognised in 1980 when he became a Member of the Order of Australia.FRCP (Edin) FRACP DDM (Syd) FACD

Dr Rosemary Nixon

Biography:
B.Sc (Hons) MBBS MPH FACD FAFOEM. Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon qualified as a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 1988, and has worked in general dermatology since then, always at 206 Albert Street (!) She is additionally qualified in occupational medicine, and holds the distinction of being the only person to have Australian qualifications in both dermatology and occupational medicine. She completed all her degrees at Monash University and trained predominantly at Prince Henry’s Hospital and also at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She was Unit Head, Dermatology at Monash Medical Centre from 1991 to 2001 and is still a Visiting Dermatologist at Southern Health. She started Australia’s first Occupational Dermatology Clinic in 1993. In 2001, she established the Occupational Dermatology Research and Education Centre (ODREC) at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, which is a small research group working in the area of occupational dermatology.

Dr Shobha Joseph

Biography:
Dr Joseph completed her undergraduate degree at St. John’s Medical College India. She graduated in MD Dermatology in 1997 practising in India for 11 years and one year in the United Kingdom. She moved to Melbourne in 2009 and completed further training in Dermatology at St. Vincent’s Hospital from 2009-2011. Dr Joseph then spent the next few years in private practice and specialist consultation at the Skin and Cancer Foundation and St. Vincent’s Hospital. She takes public appointments at both these institutions.
