First Choice Dental Group - Verona

Dr. David Niles cares for patients at our Verona and Sun Prairie dental office locations. Dr. Niles grew up in Des Plaines, IL. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University in 1982 and his DDS from the University of Illinois at Chicago Health Sciences Center (UIC) in 1986. Dr. Niles is a multi-level graduate of the premier Las Vegas Institute and Chicago’s Center for Esthetic Excellence, as well as having completed the Synergy Training Program, a 3-year mini-residency for the restoration of implants. Prior to joining First Choice Dental, Dr. Niles cared for patients at practices in Rockford and Chicago, before starting and owning his own practice in Crystal Lake, IL. He decided to transition from owning his own practice to being a member of our group practice here at First Choice Dental. He is a key member of our team where shares his experience and learns from those around him. He says First Choice Dental is his “happy dental home” and he loves the camaraderie here. When he's not in the office, you'll find Dr. Niles having fun with the family dog. He's a huge dog lover, and his favorite breeds are Golden Retrievers and Bernese Mountain Dogs. You might also see him riding his Harley. He has toured out west many times (Northern California, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Northern New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming). And he's become adept at finding Continuing Education Courses called Ride and Learn, where he can get ongoing dental education and enjoy riding in the same trip. Dr. Niles is a tremendous asset to our team of dental professionals, known for his quick wit and ability to quickly develop rapport with team members and patients.

Dr. David Penwell is a Verona dentist caring for patients of all ages at our Verona dental office at the corner of Highway M (Main St) and Cross Country Road, across from Badger Ridge Middle School. Dr. Penwell was named one of Madison’s Top Dentists for the past several years by Madison Magazine, based on how well respected he is by his dental industry peers. He is passionate about providing comfortable, anxiety-free care for the phobic patient. Dr. Penwell is a 1994 graduate of the University of Minnesota’s School of Dentistry. He is dedicated to taking the time to listen to the concerns of his patients and putting them at ease. Dr. Penwell has completed numerous continuing education courses in Dental Implants, Sedation Dentistry, Antiseptic and Comfort Procedures and Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Penwell was recently awarded a Fellowship in the field of Sedation Dentistry and is one of only a few Madison-area dentists to have advanced training and certification in Sedation Dentistry. Conscious Sedation Dentistry allows the dental phobic patient to be comfortable and at ease through the entire dental experience. Dr. Penwell will give you the smile you have dreamed-without the fear. Dr. Penwell and his wife Colleen have three wonderful children and live in Verona. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys biking, skiing, hiking, camping and fly fishing. Dr. Penwell also is very active in the community coaching youth soccer, baseball and basketball teams.

Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Wagner cares for patients at our Verona office on Hwy M/Main St right across from Badger Ridge Middle School. She grew up in Cuba City, Wisconsin and earned her undergraduate degree in 1991 from UW Madison. In 1997, she earned her DMD from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington where she was a member of the Hinman Dental Society, earning special recognition in periodontics and endodontics upon graduation. For nearly a decade following dental school, Dr. Wagner was in private practice, during which time she owned her own practice, encouraging her patients to be actively committed to periodontal health and at-home care. When Dr. Wagner and her husband started their family, they moved back to Wisconsin with their two daughters to be close to family. They live in Mt. Horeb and are thrilled to be back in Dane County. When she first arrived back in the greater Madison area, Beth served as a dentist with Access Community Health Centers in Madison, caring for our community’s underserved population. Dr. Wagner and her family love winter sports as well as summertime activities like swimming, camping, and hiking all over this great state. They also love to travel. As an active member of her community, Dr. Wagner serves on her children’s preschool board and loves to cheer on her children’s youth soccer teams.
