Biography:
Dr. Gene Pezzollo is a native New Yorker. Born and raised in Queens, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University in the Bronx, attended graduate school for Gross Anatomy at the New York University School of Medicine, eventually obtaining his degree as Doctor of Dental Medicine from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After graduation he served as intern, resident and chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Brooklyn Hospital and entered private practice in 1983. Dr. Pezzollo’s professional interests are diverse and varied. He has taught Gross Human Anatomy and Histology on the graduate level. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesia at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s School of Dental Medicine and has served as a consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the New York State Education Department’s Office of Professional Discipline. In addition he has contributed to the educations and training of hundreds of residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery and general dentistry while serving as a voluntary attending at the following hospitals: The Brooklyn Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hospital, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center.

Dr Rodney Rastegar

Biography:
Dr. Rodney Rastegar was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. He earned his bachelor of Liberal Arts in Economics with a minor in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1992. He went on to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and graduated in the top 10% of his class in 1996. After graduation he served as intern, resident, and chief resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center having a world renowned Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery program afforded Dr. Rastegar exposure to and experiences in all facets of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at very elevated levels. Upon completion of his residency in 2000, Dr. Rastegar entered into private practice with Dr. Gene Pezzollo. Over the years they have developed a symbiotic partnership which continues to thrive to this day.

Dr Petros Panagos

Biography:
Dr. Petros Panagos was born in Queens, New York and grew up in Bethpage, New York. He attended the highly selective seven-year accelerated program at New York University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 3 years, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After earning his D.D.S. degree, Dr. Panagos went on to complete an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at New York University and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, NY, regarded as one of the country’s top programs. There, he underwent vigorous training in dento-alveolar surgery, implant reconstruction, anesthesia, pediatric dental surgery, orthognathic surgery, treatment of head and neck pathology and trauma, and major facial reconstruction. He has had the honor of presenting some of his work at the national meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as being published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has partaken in many community outreach programs, including dental outreaches to the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Honduras. He has also been a part of “Healing the Children,” where he provided cleft lip and palate surgery for underprivileged children and adolescents in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
