Biography:
Dr. Michael Mistretta earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology, summa cum laude, from Wagner College in 1996. At graduation, he received the Dr. Donald Spiro award, having earned the highest academic distinction in his graduating class. He then attended the New York University College of Dentistry on a full tuition Dean’s Merit Scholarship, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000 and was named to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. He then moved to Philadelphia where he began his training in a six year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine, and then completed two years of training in General Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, culminating by serving as Chief Resident at both the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, in 2006. He was named a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2008. Dr. Mistretta’s areas of specific interest are treatment of maxillofacial trauma and surgical management of oral soft tissue and jaw pathology, as well as surgical treatment of dentofacial deformities. He is good in dentoalveolar reconstruction, using various methods of bone grafting and subsequent dental implant surgery. He is currently an attending surgeon at St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals. He is an active member of the American Medical and Dental Associations, New York State Dental Society, New York County Dental Society, the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and an associate fellow the New York Academy of Dentistry.

Dr. Beller graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1968 with a major in Zoology and a minor in chemistry and math. He attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Postgraduate Training at Harlem Hospital Medical Center in 1977. Dr. Beller is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1980. He is an attending surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Beller has spent many years on the Board of Directors of the New York County Dental Society. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He has written numerous articles and a chapter in a textbook on esthetics.
