He grew up in Tipton, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology-Chemistry from Manchester University. He then received his master’s degree in Physiology from Ball State University graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. In 2003, he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University School of Dentistry. During dental school, he was awarded the AAOMS Student Award for his outstanding achievement and performance. He completed his four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2007 at Indiana University School of Medicine with surgical rotations at Riley, Methodist, University and Wishard (now Eskenazi Health) Hospitals. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He lives in West Lafayette with his wonderful wife and his four children.
