Originally I am from Whitley Bay - North East of England.
I was inspired to become a dentist after working with a local family dentist in my home town, and aim to build the long-term relationship he had with his many patients. I graduated from the School of Dentistry, University of Edinburgh with a B.D.S. in 1986.
My first job was as a school dentist on the island of Guernsey, relocating to the Midlands in 1988. After brief spells in Tamworth and Walsall in 1990 I took over a dental practice at Beacon Road, Pheasey, Great Barr. In 2010 I celebrated 20 years as a practice owner.
In 1995 I moved my practice location to Mere Green.
Over the years I have taken a special interest in treating children - particularly with regard to the developing teeth and orthodontic need in young people. With four children of my own I am keenly aware of some of the concerns and challenges faced by parents when it comes to caring for their childrens teeth.
I am a keen follower of new developments in dentistry, and to this end have taken an interest in postgraduate courses such as the clearstep system, Oralift, cosmetic facial injections and Inman Aligners. Naturally I also endeavour to ensure that my knowledge and skills are in keeping with contemporary dentistry.
I am a member of the British Dental Association.
