Neil graduated in 1992 from The London Hospital and entered General Practice. In 1994 he became SHO and subsequently Associate Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He entered specialist training in the Department of Periodontology at Guys Hospital in 1996, during which time he gained his FDS (Restorative) and MSc in Periodontology. On completion of Specialist training in 2000, he gained his MClin Dent and MRDRCS and was recognised as Specialist in Periodontics by the General Dental Council.

Neil joined the practice in 2000 where he currently treats patients four days each week. He also practices one day a week in a Periodontal referral practice in The City and he is involved in teaching courses and study groups relating to various aspects of periodontal treatment and dental implantology both within the practices at which he works and at other venues. He has a wide experience in dental implantology and is involved in mentoring General Dental Practitioners placing and restoring dental implants both in the UK and abroad.

Neils experience in diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment is a useful resource for dentists who refer to him for advice and for their patients requiring his clinical expertise. He has a keen interest in the oral rehabilitation of patients with a combination of periodontal and restorative problems, and treats patients with a wide range of periodontal and other dental and oral related problems.

He has published research relating the effects of tobacco smoking and periodontal disease in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology.

In common with all the specialists in the Practice, he is available to discuss treatment planning and any other treatment problems with referring colleagues.

Dr James Moore

Biography:

After Graduating from Glasgow University, Jim entered general practice. Following associate positions, latterly in Surrey, he became the principle of a general practice in Cheam in 1970 and practised as the principal of a multi-surgery NHS practice until 1983.

Following the award of his Masters in Periodontology in 1983, he established a periodontal referral practice in Cheam and divided his time between practice and his teaching post in the Department of Periodontology and Preventive Dentistry at Guys. In 1994 he was among the first candidates to be awarded MRDRCS and subsequently, he was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist both in Periodontics and Prosthodontics.

Jim has wide experience of the various periodontal treatment modalities including all types of non-surgical periodontal therapy and the treatment of advanced cases utilising a range of periodontal surgical techniques. In addition, he has in-depth experience of assessing, planning and treating advanced restorative cases.

He has been involved with dental implants since 1992, initially within the department of Periodontology at Guys and subsequently in practice, and has experience in placing and restoring dental implants in diverse clinical cases. He has lectured at numerous clinical and research meetings on various aspects of Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Implantology.

In addition to his involvement in Ashley House, he is currently the Senior Specialist Clinical Teacher in the department of Periodontology at Kings College, Guys Campus, where he teaches post-graduate students preparing for MSc and MClin Dent degrees in Periodontology.

With his extensive experience in all aspects of Restorative practice, Jim is always available for discussion of multi-disciplinary cases.

Dr Glynis Evans

After qualifying in Birmingham University in 1980, Glynis gained further experience in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry in hospital appointments prior to entering general dental practice in 1985 where she practiced initially in Wales and subsequently in Purley, Surrey.

She developed an interest in Endodontics which led her to enroll on the MSc degree programme at the Eastman Dental Institute. She was awarded her degree with distinction in 1997 and she was included on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Endodontics. Shortly afterwards, she established Endodontic referral practices in Woking and Purley and joined Ashley House in 2006. In addition she teaches on the Endodontic Postgraduate programme for students preparing or Masters degrees and those on the specialist training programme at the Eastman Dental institute, where she is a Clinical Lecturer in endodontics.

Since 1998, Glynis has organised numerous hands on courses and has taught on a wide range of endodontic related topics to all members of the dental team. She is a member of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Restorative Dentistry and has been an active member of the executive of the British Endodontic Society Council.

Glynis experience and expertise is widely sought after. She receives many referrals from colleagues seeking advice and treatment for patients with a wide range of complex endodontic problems. Her pragmatic and realistic approach to treatment, as well as her technical expertise provides a useful service for patients and referring dentists seeking treatment with predictable and successful outcomes.

Her publications include the effects of mechanical and chemical procedures on root canal surfaces and the influence of preparation technique and sodium hypochlorite on preparing root canals of posterior teeth. She has published various articles on endodontics in The International Endodontic Journal and Dental Update.

Dr Paul Robinson

Biography:

Paul qualified from Guys in 1970 and following houseman posts and 4 years in general practice (for a time with Jim Moore), he completed his medical training in 1981, and subsequently was awarded General Medical Council specialist accreditation.

From 1985 to 2004 he treated patients and taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at what is now known as GKT Dental Hospital at Guys Campus, London Bridge. Currently, in addition to being available for consultation and treatment at Ashley House, he spends part of his week at The Nuffield at London Bridge.

Pauls special interests include bone grafting, bone substitute materials, dental implantology and dento-alveolar surgery. He continues to be active in the field of bioactive ceramic materials.

He is the author of two textbooks on tooth extraction and local anaesthesia and he has published widely on various surgical topics. In addition he was appointed Hunterian Professor in 1992 and he is also a lifelong self-appointed ambassador for the retention of Oral and maxillofacial Surgery as a specialty of Dentistry.

As well as all of the above, Paul is an exceptional clinician with a reassuring patient manner and he is readily available to discuss patients and their needs with colleagues.

Dr Yusof Omar

Joe Omar spent his early years in South Africa before his family came to the UK. He qualified as a doctor from Cairo University in 1976 and returned to the UK to pursue a career in Anaesthesia. He left the NHS in 1984 to establish a private practice in Dental Anaesthesia/Sedation for dental patients. Joe is especially keen to help patients who are nervous, anxious, frightened, or who have had bad experiences in the dentist’s chair. He is also able to help those who have a strong gag or retch reflex, for which he is able to use sedation as well as acupuncture.

Joe is a Clinical Lecturer and Examiner in Sedation at the Eastman Dental Institute, CPD, UCL. He is strongly of the opinion that safe sedation stems from developing great skills, improving one’s knowledge, accumulating experience, and last but not least, continuing education and keeping up to date.

He has lectured on Sedation and on Medical Emergencies for the past 20 years or moreto audiences in the UK as well as many parts of the world, including Canada, South Africa and the Seychelles. He is well known for his unique delivery and sound understanding of the subject.

Joe served on the ‘Standing Committee for Sedation in Dentistry’ convened by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Anaesthetists from 2007-2010 and is Council member of the Association of Dental Anaesthetists (ADA).
