Dr Markey is a graduate of The University of Liverpool School of Dentistry, qualifiying in 2001. He has worked throughout the North West with posts in Liverpool, Culcheth, Warrington, Chester and Ellesmere Port before taking over Victoria Square Dental Practice in St Helens in July 2006.

Clinically, Dr Markey has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and has undertaken many postgraduate further professional education courses. These include:

• Aesthetic and restorative dental surgery

• Endodontics (root fillings)

• Implantology

• Invisalign (invisible orthodontic braces)

In refurbishing Victoria Square Dental Practice Dr Markey has been mindful of the very latest in modern techniques and has ensured that new advances such as digital radiography (instant x-rays) and in chair tooth whitening (ZOOM!), to name but a few, have been at the fore. This has benefited his patients and encouraged improved dental and general health.

Karen is a graduate of The University of Liverpool School of Oral Health and is a valuable member of our modern, youthful team. Karen joined Victoria Square in 2006.

Karen is a member of the British Dental Hygienist Assocation and she takes a keen interest in adjunct therapies. These are treatments, alongside routine scaling and cleaning of teeth, that can further improve oral health e.g. antibiotic treatments of bleeding gums and assistance with controlling bad breath.

Karen is an integral part of our preventative dental health approach as her work prevents and treats periodontal (gum) disease and maintains and promotes good oral health.
