I have been a successful laboratory owner for 30 years, during which time I’ve constantly pursued a quest for perfection in satisfying all the needs of dental surgeons and their patients.

I opened the Symons, Sibson Research and Development Department after encountering some clinically difficult patients whose experience with dental laboratory appliances was never totally satisfactory when conventional techniques were applied. Happily our team was able to resolve those problem areas, one by one, through a combination of logic, analysis and hard work.

My innovations include the Functionistic full lower denture, the Alternative crown impression technique and Alternative Orthodontics, and I have spent many hours perfecting the Anti-gagging impression system. See the Inventions section for more information.

As well as gaining an extensive knowledge of full lower denture construction and occlusal therapy, I have a keen eye for the nuances of shading and form in crown construction.
