Dr. Fernando Boccio is a highly respected orthodontist, educator, and innovator in modern dental care, recognized as one of Spain’s leading experts in orthodontics and invisible orthodontic treatments. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Seville with the highest possible distinction before completing his specialization in Stomatology and earning a Doctorate in Medicine (Cum Laude) from the same institution. He further advanced his training through a postgraduate program in Orthodontics at San Rafael Hospital in Madrid. Since 1991, Dr. Boccio has dedicated his professional career exclusively to orthodontics, continually embracing innovation and excellence in patient care. Under his leadership, the clinic expanded in 2014 to offer all dental specialties, growing into a state-of-the-art 1,100-square-meter facility staffed by 11 doctors and 50 team members. Today, the practice has treated more than 35,000 patients and welcomes over 25,000 visits annually. Dr. Boccio has also made significant contributions to dental education. He served as an Associate Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Seville for ten years and has lectured internationally in Spain, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. His presentations have focused on advanced orthodontic systems, including the Damon System and Incognito lingual orthodontics, as well as the integration of computer technology and management strategies in orthodontic practice. He has also authored numerous articles and delivered presentations at professional conferences. Throughout his career, Dr. Boccio has achieved several pioneering milestones. He developed Orthos, one of the first software platforms designed to create a completely paperless dental clinic. In 2001, he became the first Spanish doctor to complete a residency with Dr. Dwight Damon in Spokane, USA. He was also the first Spanish doctor certified in the Incognito lingual orthodontic technique after training with Dr. Dirk Wiechmann in Bad Essen, Germany, and the first Spanish doctor to complete a residency in the Insignia Technique with Dr. Bob Smith in Orlando, USA. In 2019, he further expanded his expertise through advanced training with Dr. Yann Lefur in Lyon, France, one of the early pioneers of clinical aligner systems in Europe. Dr. Boccio is also the founder of the Ortodoncis Group, established in 1996. The organization brings together some of Spain’s most prestigious orthodontic clinics and has become a benchmark for innovation in both clinical orthodontics and practice management.
