Why visit Manila?

Why is Manila a popular tourist destination?

Manila, the capital of the Philippines, has a vast array of activities for tourists. The Rizal Park, named after Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, is studded with historical monuments.  Manila also has some well-known and historically significant churches and the world’s oldest Chinatown. Manila is a shopper's and bargain hunter's paradise with large malls that feel like mini-cities. Manila offers a wide range of accommodation options for tourists, from super luxury hotels to budget accommodation or self-catering apartments.

Why is Manila a popular international medical tourism destination?

Hospitals and clinics in Manila have world class facilities and offer high quality medical and dental treatments at affordable rates. The staff in the hospitals usually speak English. The hospitals and clinics that offer medical tourism are accredited by the Philippines Department of Health and internationally accredited by the JCI and ISO. They offer low cost healthcare packages combining treatment with a holiday for overseas patients.

How does a medical tourist get to Manila from the airport?

Manila is served by the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. There are taxis and airport buses that take tourists to the city. Tourists who want to travel in the traditional Filipino vehicle called Jeepney can find them waiting for customers outside the airport.

What are the visa requirements for medical tourists to the Philippines?

There are no specific medical tourism visas required for patients. Patients with valid passports and return tickets from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Kuwait and a few other countries do not require a Visa for staying in the Philippines for up to 21 days. Patients can get details of visa requirements by visiting the website: www.immigration.gov.ph

Dentistria Dental Office

Suite 1120, 98 Cityland herrera Tower, V.A. Rufino corner Valero Sts., Salcedo Village, Makati
Rating from 6 Reviews I feel perfectly fine and happy with the outcomeJean-Francois, Makati, 30 Jul 17

I went to consult Dr. Cruz on a molar that had an old crown (maybe 30 years old) that broke. Only some thin portions of the original tooth was sticking out. The root had been removed so it was painless. I thought I would need an implant to replace the tooth since there was not enough of the tooth left for another outlay. After examining my tooth Dr. Cruz explained that an implant would entail extracting the tooth completely and since there was not enough of the tooth left to pull from, the gum would have to be cut open for the tooth to be extracted and then only the implant process could start. He advised against it saying that it would be a long and difficult process and not worth it. Instead he proposed just to fill the cavity and cover the tooth. It would not serve as before but actually I could do without this tooth. Besides as it is at the back, it can't be seen. So he did it in a single session that took less then 30 minutes. I feel perfectly fine and happy with the outcome It is a small clinic unlike what the website would make us think. Actually, Dr. Cruz appears to be the sole practitioner. Both Dr. Cruz and his staff are very welcoming and genuinely nice. Consultation is free and so is advice. It is clear that this clinic is not only after your money as so many in Makati where everything starts with a panoramic X-ray that you most probably don't need but that you have to pay for. No nonsense in Dentistria. Only the treatment you really need is advised and the price is the right one. I am glad I came across Dr. Cruz to help me resolving my tooth problem.

Jensen Dental Clinic

1805 Dian St. corner Enrique St, Palanan, Makati, 1235
Rating from 4 Reviews Managed a phobia of needles very well.John&Caroline, Beijing, 04 Sep 15

The two of us had a consultation and fluoride treatment, and one of us had a deep cavity. This is an excellent dentist and clinic. The dentist explained everything very clearly in an educating manner, which we both appreciated. She took her time and did a very thorough job. One of us has a phobia of needles. The dentist also managed this very well. The surgery is spotlessly clean with up-to-date equipment. Without knowing much about the clinics, we chose ten within a 2km radius of where we are. Dr. Jensen was the only one to respond. I highly recommend visiting this clinic in every aspect from start to finish.

De los Reyes Pediatric Dentistry

33 Sta. Catalina St., Barrio Kapitolyo,, Pasig, 1603
Rating from 1 Review Very pleasant for us and our babyJenny, Philippines, 01 Jun 15

I brought my 2.5 year old daughter for her first ever dental check-up. Dra. Carina was very pleasant. She first explained everything we need to know about the oral health and care of my baby's teeth, before she actually went on with the procedure. She cleaned my daughter's teeth and put flouride on it. She was very nice that my baby felt comfortable with her. My baby didn't cry the whole time her teeth were being treated. She liked Dra. Carina so much that before leaving, she actually bade her goodbye and told her where we were next headed. Price for the treatment is a bit more expensive than if it were done to an adult, but that's understandable. All in all, I would recommend bringing smaller kids to pediatric dentists because they would best know how to handle children. The clinic per se (Medical City Medical Arts Tower) is not my favorite place to go to. I would've preferred the clinic in Barrio Kapitolyo as going to Medical City always give me a headache. Nonetheless, the visit turned out ok, so no further issues. I would prefer future visits in Kapitolyo though. It was a very pleasant experience for us and our baby. I would definitely recommend visiting Dra. Carina!f

Impacted Tooth Surgery I used to dread going to the Dentist but I had to have my Impacted molar removed as it is already causing me much discomfort. Dr. Pingol took time to explain the procedure to me as well as what to expect. The staff are reassuring. The oral surgery I underwent was painless. Such an awesome team. I no longer fear dentists.
