Registered specialist in periodontics and dental implants and returned to New Zealand in 2000 following two years in the USA where he was Clinical Assistant Professor in Periodontology and Associate Scientist in the Laboratory for Applied Periodontal and Cranio-facial Regeneration at Temple University, School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. While in the USA, he was involved teaching implant dentistry and periodontics at postgraduate level. Dr Danesh-Meyer graduated with his BDS (with credit) and MDS (with distinction) from University of Otago, School of Dentistry in Dunedin. He worked as a specialist in dental implants and periodontics in Dunedin and Christchurch prior to his departure to the USA.

Graduated with his Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago in 1998. Prior to commencing his dental studies he completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) at Otago with majors in physiology and anatomy. While completing this degree, Dr Fitzgibbon was involved in preclinical research using PCR to explore the influence of growth factors (TGF-beta and IGF) on oncogene expression in deer antler cells. After gaining his BDS, Dr Fitzgibbon traveled overseas to enter private dental practice in Sydney, Australia for 3 years before returning to Auckland to continue private practice for a further 4 years, refining his skills as a general dentist. During this time he developed a keen interest for periodontology, which ultimately lead him back to the University of Otago to complete a Doctorate in Periodontology.

Hygienist Graduated from Otago University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Health Science Endorsed in Dental Hygiene, and was the 2006 recipient of the Colgate academic scholarship award. Since gaining qualification, Toni has worked in general dental practices here in Auckland. Prior to her studies in Dental Hygiene, Toni worked as a dental assistant for 6 years and studied Human Anatomy, Biomedical, and social sciences part time at the University of Auckland.
