The procedure went well with no issues

4.5 50 Root Canals, Dental Crowns

This was my first trip to Mexico for dental work. I was a little apprehensive not knowing the procedures of crossing the border. Turns out it was really easy, drive to the border, turn right into parking lot on Texas side. $2 to park and another $1 fee to walk into Mexico (.30 cents for return) Dentist office was a short walk away.

Upon my initial exam, I was asked why I wanted a root canal when a filling would suffice the problem.....at the advise of my tech. I choose the $60 filling over the root canal, post, crown route my local dentist advised...

The procedure went well with no issues. Very happy with the services received. Thanks Dental Artistry Dental Center

I cannot say enough about how pleased I am and will definitely be back

4.5 50 Dentist Consultation • Paid: $8000

I spent 4 days in Progresso Mexico with Dental Artistry getting a lot of dental work done that I had neglected for quite some time due to no insurance coverage and high cost here in the US. The crossing was easy, no problems.... felt safe the entire trip. They did what is called dental imaging that was not offered here in the US and made a big difference aesthetically. The work was very professionally done, paying attention to detail and making sure I was happy with the results. They brought in an orthodontist to do my 5 root canals. I had my front 3 teeth recently done (1 year before) in the US and was not pleased with the way they looked (too big and crooked) they redid those that look amazing. Most of the upper and lower arches were redone with crowns and one bridge on top. The top arch looked like I had worn braces to get the perfect smile and was done using the imaging machine. The color matched exactly what I asked for. They have their own modern lab across the street and do all the work themselves. I have never had this level of work like this....I cannot say enough about how pleased I am and will definitely be back.

I hope they are true to their word

4 50 CAD/CAM Dental Restorations, Zirconia Crown • Paid: $700

I got two zirconium crowns on my front two upper teeth during spring break 2023. Cad-Cam got the whole process done in 24 hours. My dentist in Houston wanted $2,300 for the two crowns…Cad-Cam charged $700 for two.

As always, the question is, ”is the quality the same?” Or “Are the dentist qualified?” And “is it safe to go there.” The answer is yes for all three. My only concern is if one of the crowns come loose, would they fix it?? In the US…the dentist has fto ix errors. Cad/Cam told me the work is guaranteed so I hope they are true to their word.

By the way, I flew from Houston to Harlingen, rented a car, stayed overnight in Welesco, Tx and still came out way ahead.

Hi! Thank you for your review! We offer two year warranty on zirconium crowns! Please let us know when you can come in to check what is going on! 956-742-8735 rickdental@gmail.com

Guaranteed for 5 years.

The most common use of bone grafting is in the application of , in order to restore the  area of a missing tooth. Dental implants require bones underneath them for support and to  properly into the mouth. People who have been  (without teeth) for a prolonged period may not have enough bone left in the necessary locations. In this case, bone can be taken from the chin or from the pilot holes for the implants or even from the iliac crest of the pelvis and inserted into the mouth underneath the new implant. In general, bone grafts are either used en block (such as from the chin or the ascending ramus area of the lower jaw) or particulated, in order to be able to adapt it better to a defect.

Dental Bonding

Dental Bonding - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterDental Bonding - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Adhesive dentistry is a branch of dentistry which mainly deals with adhesion or bonding of the adhesive material or cements to the natural substance of teeth, enamel and dentin.
Dental bonding is a dental procedure in which a dentist applies a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) and cures it with visible, blue light. This ultimately "bonds" the material to the tooth and improves the overall appearance of teeth.[citation needed] Tooth bonding techniques have various clinical applications including operative dentistry and preventive dentistry as well as cosmetic and pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.
Irwin Smigel founder and current president of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and diplomat of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry, was one of the first to broaden the usage of bonding by using it to close gaps between teeth, lengthen teeth as well as to re-contour the entire mouth rather than using crowns. Having done the most extensive work on the process than any other dentist, Dr. Smigel lectures world-wide on aesthetic dentistry. IN 1979 he published a guide to aesthetic dentistry entitled “Dental Health/Dental Beauty.”
As a modern science, adhesive dentistry studies the nature and strength of the adhesion to dental hard tissues, properties of adhesive materials, causes and mechanisms of failure of the bonds, clinical techniques for bonding and newer applications for bonding such as bonding to the soft tissue.[1] Theres also direct composite bonding which uses tooth-colored direct dental composites to repair various tooth damages such as cracks or gaps.

Temporary Bridge

Temporary Bridge - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
During the first visit for getting a dental bridge, the abutment teeth are prepared. Preparation involves recontouring these teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them. Next, impressions of your teeth are made, which serve as a model from which the bridge, pontic, and crowns will be made by a dental laboratory. Your dentist will make a temporary bridge for you to wear to protect the exposed teeth and gums while your bridge is being made.
During the second visit, your temporary bridge will be removed and the new permanent bridge will be checked and adjusted, as necessary, to achieve a proper fit. Multiple visits may be required to check the fit of the metal framework and bite. This is dependent on each individuals case. If the dental bridge is a fixed (permanent) bridge, your dentist may temporarily cement it in place for a couple of weeks to make sure it is fitting properly. After a couple weeks, the bridge is permanently cemented into place.

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterDental Crowns - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Guaranteed for 2 years.A dental crown is a cap-like restoration used to cover a damaged tooth. Crowns can give support to misshapen or badly broken teeth and permanently replace missing teeth to complete a smile or improve a bite pattern. They may be molded from metal, ceramic, plastics, or combinations of all three. They are cemented in place and coated to make them more natural looking. Historically, a variety of materials have been used as tooth replacements. The ancient Egyptians used animal teeth and pieces of bone as primitive replacement materials. More recently, artificial teeth have been fabricated from substances such as ivory, porcelain, and even platinum. With modern technology, high quality tooth replacements can be made from synthetic plastic resins, ceramic composites, and lightweight metal alloys.

Gold Crown

Gold Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Guaranteed for 2 years.

Gold is the most biocompatible non-toxic material used in dentistry today. It is non-corrosive and hypo-allergenic. Golds wear rates and coefficient of thermal expansion is very similar to enamel, and thus achieves a better natural fit. Gold margins do not break or chip even when thinned and polished. As mentioned before, less tooth structure is removed when preparing teeth for gold, which leaves the tooth stronger and healthier.

The greatest advantage of using gold is its longevity, which can actually make it LESS costly in the long run. Gold easily outlasts other materials three to five times longer. When describing other materials, dentists talk in terms of years of service. When talking about gold, we speak in terms of decades of service. This idea is not lost on discerning patients and it is a huge motivating factor for them to select gold.

For cast gold and gold foil restorations to achieve decades of service, they must be placed with the highest levels of skill and precision, so it is important to seek a dentist who has quality experience with the required techniques. Using RV Tucker techniques can produce a "margin" so tight that the gap next to the gold crown is less than the diameter of the bacteria that can cause future decay and damage after the crown is complete!!

Permanent Crown

Permanent Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterPermanent Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Guaranteed for 2 years.
Permanent crowns can be made from all metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic.
Metals used in crowns include gold alloy, other alloys (for example, palladium) or a base-metal alloy (for example, nickel or chromium). Compared with other crown types, less tooth structure needs to be removed with metal crowns, and tooth wear to opposing teeth is kept to a minimum. Metal crowns withstand biting and chewing forces well and probably last the longest in terms of wear down. Also, metal crowns rarely chip or break. The metallic color is the main drawback. Metal crowns are a good choice for out-of-sight molars.
Porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns can be color matched to your adjacent teeth (unlike the metallic crowns). However, more wearing to the opposing teeth occurs with this crown type compared with metal or resin crowns. The crowns porcelain portion can also chip or break off. Next to all-ceramic crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns look most like normal teeth. However, sometimes the metal underlying the crowns porcelain can show through as a dark line, especially at the gum line and even more so if your gums recede. These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.
All-resin dental crowns are less expensive than other crown types. However, they wear down over time and are more prone to fractures than porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns.
All-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns provide the best natural color match than any other crown type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. However, they are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and they wear down opposing teeth a little more than metal or resin crowns. All-ceramic crowns are a good choice for front teeth.
Temporary versus permanent. Temporary crowns can be made in your dentists office whereas permanent crowns are made in a dental laboratory.

Temporary Crown

Temporary Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterTemporary Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
A temporary crown is a provisional, short term restoration used in dentistry. Usually the temporary crown is constructed from a chemical-cure composite, although alternative systems using aluminium crown forms are occasionally used by practitioners. The temporary material is shaped by the dentist to form a tooth shape that protects the prepared tooth, prevents damage to the periodontal tissues (gums) and disguises the prepared tooth to a degree until the final, definitive restoration can be made by a dental technician.
A temporary crown will usually be cemented in place with a soft temporary dental cement, such as Temp-Bond NE. This allows easy removal when fitting the definitve restoration.
If a temporary crown becomes decemented, it is important that a dentist examine the patient as overeruption of the opposing teeth may prevent accurate fitting of the final crown.

Zirconia Crown

Zirconia Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterZirconia Crown - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Guaranteed for 2 years.
Now, the Zirconia manufacturers have worked on new crowns that are custom milled from solid blocks of Zirconia and baked at extremely high temperatures so that the completed crown is pretty near unbreakable. Zirconia is 100% biocompatible. It is inert, and the body does not reject zirconia so you don’t have to worry about allergies or adverse reactions.
Zirconia Crowns have several advantages of both traditional Gold Crowns and Porcelain.
Although Gold Crowns are well tolerated, last long and are a good technical choice, many consumers much prefer to have a natural effect that blends into the overall smile. Many also dont want metal in their mouths.
In most cases the choice will be between a Porcelain Crown and a Zirconia Crown.
Zirconia Crowns have several advantages of standard Porcelain crowns.
Strength and Longevity: Zirconia is virtually indestructible whereas Porcelain crowns are prone to chipping. Crowns have a lifetime of around 10 years. Zirconia should last a lifetime.
Cosmetic: Have you ever seen people with a large unsightly black line above their gums? Up until recently most crowns are Porcelain which is Fused to a Metal base. Over time, the metal begins to show more and more and the restoration can look opaque and monochromatic, with the tell tale dark grey line at the crown join.
The Zirconia Crowns not only look more translucent, but are much stronger than the Porcelain fused to the Metal posts. The Zirconia crowns are milled from a single block of crystal and can be up to five times stronger than a porcelain / metal fuse.
Less tooth Removal: In cases where their is not much room for porcelain build up - for example if an tooth abutment is already quite bulky, a Zirconia Crown can be used because if provides more strength in less volume than a porcelain crown.

Mini Implants

Mini Implants - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterMini Implants - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

Mini dental implants (MDIs) are small diameter dental implants.

Dental implants may be split into two separate categories based on the diameter of the device. Small diameter dental implants, most often referred to as ‘Mini Implants’, are those with a diameter less than three millimeters (3mm.) Likewise, standard or conventional implants are those implants larger than 3mm in diameter, but most commonly 4- 5mm. As a rule of thumb, Mini Dental Implants are at least half the price of conventional implants and sometimes a quarter of the price of conventional implants.[1][2]

Mini dental implants, or MDIs, are sometimes referred to as SDIs (small diameter implants), as well as NDIs (narrow body implants). Although mini dental implant is actually a trade name for the most widely used small diameter implant, the 3M™ ESPE™ MDI Mini Dental Implant, the dental industry has adopted the term to describe this class of implants. Some small diameter implants are used as anchors in orthodontic cases and are called TADs, or temporary attachment devices. One example of a TAD is the Unitek™ Temporary Anchorage Device System. These differ from the more common mini dental implants in that they are removed after they are no longer needed and orthodontic treatment is completed.

The panoramic x-ray can also be taken very quickly and is especially helpful when a patient is in pain.Typically, a panoramic x-ray should be taken every three (3) years and having a series of them on the same patient can assist the dentist in later determining whether changes seen in the panoramic x-ray are normal or not.

What are the benefits of a dental radiograph examination? Many diseases of the teeth

and surrounding tissues cannot be seen during a routine visual examination of your mouth. An x-ray examination may reveal:

  • small areas of decay between the teeth or below existing restorations (fillings)
  • infections in the bone periodontal (gum) disease in the form of reduced bone levels around the teeth abscesses or cysts developmental abnormalities
  • some types of tumors Finding and treating dental problems at an early stage can save time, money and unnecessary  discomfort. If you have a hidden tumor, radiographs may even help save your life. There are two types of radiographs that me taken: intra-oral and extra-oral. The intraoral x-rays are the most commonly known type that involve the placement of the small films inside the mouth, and provide the most detail and

accuracy of small areas at a time. The extraoral films are larger, and take a more overall view of the teeth and jaws. The most common extraoral film is the panoramic x-ray which is taken by a unit that spins around the patients head and

produces a complete survey of the teeth and upper & lower jawbones.

Acrylic Dentures

Acrylic Dentures - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterAcrylic Dentures - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Guaranteed for 1 years.

Acrylic Dentures are like the $50 cameras that you can pick up at a supermarket. They take pictures, but obviously, you wont find professional photographers carrying them. If you want a cheap, quick and easy snapshot, they are OK. If you are taking pictures to impress people, then perhaps, you should think of getting a better camera.

Acrylic Dentures are probably the oldest type of dentures in the market. They are still useful for people who are not demanding and budget conscious. We sometimes make acrylic dentures as temporary dentures before implant restoration. They are also good as immediate dentures as they are more easily relined and adjusted than other types of dentures.

The problem with acrylic is that its not very strong compared to metal-based dentures and other newer materials on the market. A weaker material means greater thickness is required. Hence, acrylic dentures tend to be thick and bulky. Acrylic is a stable material. However, it does undergo some dimensional changes during processing. Hence, acrylic dentures tend nogt to fit so well. Quite a bit of adjustment is often needed when the dentist issues the final denture.

Most acrylic partial dentures need metal clasps to help them hold on to the remaining teeth. These are usually stainless steel wires. If they are visible, they may affect aesthetics.

Full acrylic dentures are often without metal as there are no more teeth left for the denture to grip on. So how do these dentures stay in the mouth? The upper full denture works by sealing itself into the upper jaw like a cup. The lower full denture is a lot harder to seal. There is also a much narrower area that the denture can rest on because of the tongue. For most people, lower full

removable partial denture (RPD) is for a partially  dental patient who desires to have replacement teeth for functional or aesthetic reasons, and who cannot have a  (a fixed partial denture) for any number of reasons, such as a lack of required teeth to serve as support for a bridge (i.e. distal abutments) or due to financial limitations.

The reason why this type of prosthesis is referred to as a removable partial denture is because patients can remove and reinsert them when required without professional help. Conversely, a "fixed" prosthesis can and should be removed only by a dental professional.

Extractions

Extractions - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

A dental extraction (also referred to as exodontia) is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as are extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment.

Non-Surgical Extractions

Non-Surgical Extractions - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Historically, dental extractions have been used to treat a variety of illnesses, as well as a method of torture to obtain forced confessions. Before the discovery of antibiotics, chronic tooth infections were often linked to a variety of health problems, and therefore removal of a diseased tooth was a common treatment for various medical conditions. Instruments used for dental extractions date back several centuries. In the 14th century, Guy de Chauliac invented the dental pelican, which was used through the late 18th century. The pelican was replaced by the dental key which, in turn, was replaced by modern forceps in the 20th century. As dental extractions can vary tremendously in difficulty, depending on the patient and the tooth, a wide variety of instruments exist to address specific situations.

Surgical Extractions

Surgical Extractions - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterSurgical Extractions - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

Surgical extraction is needed in case if the teeth cannot be easily seen. These teeth might either not have come up yet or might have broken off in such a way that half of the teeth still remains in the gum line. In order to see and to remove such a tooth, the dentist or the oral surgeon will have to cut and then pull the gums back.

Surgical extraction procedures are usually done by the oral surgeons. These procedures are conducted under local anesthesia (given as injections) and you may also opt for conscious sedation. Patients with medical complications and children are given general anesthesia. In case of a surgical extraction, the dentist must make an incision in the gum in order to locate the tooth.

In critical cases, the tooth will be cut into pieces and then removed.

If you are getting a tooth extraction and you are to receive a conscious sedation, you might also be given steroids in the IV line to help lessen the swelling caused after the surgery.

If you need to remove all the four wisdom teeth, you have to get it done at the same time. The topmost teeth can be easily removed, but the lower ones might prove to be difficult.

A wisdom tooth, in humans, is any of the usually four third molars. Wisdom teeth usually appear between the ages of 17 and 25.[1] Most adults have four wisdom teeth, but it is possible to have fewer (oligodontia), or more, in which case they are called supernumerary teeth. Wisdom teeth commonly affect other teeth as they develop, becoming impacted or "coming in sideways." They are often extracted when this occurs. About 35% of the population do not develop wisdom teeth at all

Fillings

WHITE PORCELIAN  FILLINGS, METAL FREE! SAME COLOR AS YOUR TOOTH ,WONT EVEN KNOW ITS THERE.A dental restoration or dental filling is a dental restorative material used to restore the function, integrity and morphology of missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results from caries or external trauma. It is also lost intentionally during tooth preparation to improve the aesthetics or the physical integrity of the intended restorative material. Dental restoration also refers to the replacement of missing tooth structure that is supported by dental implants.

Dental restorations can be divided into two broad types: direct restorations and indirect restorations. All dental restorations can be further classified by their location and size. A root canal filling is a restorative technique used to fill the space where the dental pulp normally resides.

Porcelain Filling

Porcelain Filling - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Cavities can result from a number of different things.  A cavity is formed from the tooth being demineralized by bacteria formed on the surface of the tooth.  For instance, if you eat a lot of sweet foods, bacteria develops on the surface of the tooth, the bacteria creates an acid that breaks down the tissue the tooth is made of.
Cavities can also be caused by small amounts of food being left between teeth.  These small pieces of food will develop bacteria around them, which develop acid that is destructive to the tooth material.
In order to restore the tooth, a dentist must rid the tooth of the decayed cavity material and fill the hole in the tooth with a filling.  In the past, metal fillings were used.  Unfortunately, metal fillings do not bond to the tooth, and they actually weaken the tooth’s integrity.

Dentist, Dr. Rene Rosas  uses white porcelain fillings, or porcelain inlays and onlays, in order to fill cavities in your teeth.  A white porcelain filling is placed in a cavity to restore the look and function of the tooth.Today’s porcelain fillings provide a strong, long lasting, and natural looking alternative to the traditional amalgam fillings of the past that could mar your beautiful smile with dull, dark colored fillings.

Temporary Filling

Temporary Filling - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterTemporary Filling - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

Temporary fillings are used under the following circumstances:

  1. For fillings that require more than one appointment - for example, before placement of gold fillings and for certain filling procedures (called indirect fillings) that use composite materials
  2. Following a root canal
  3. To allow a tooths nerve to "settle down" if the pulp became irritated
  4. If emergency dental treatment is needed (such as to address a toothache)

Temporary fillings are just that; they are not meant to last. They usually fall out, fracture, or wear out within 1 month. Be sure to contact your dentist to have your temporary filling replaced with a permanent one. If you dont, your tooth could become infected or you could have other complications

Root canals

Root canals - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterRoot canals - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

A root canal is the space within the root of a tooth. It is part of a naturally occurring space within a tooth that consists of the pulp chamber (within the coronal part of the tooth), the main canal(s), and more intricate anatomical branches that may connect the root canals to each other or to the surface of the root.At the center of a tooth is a hollow area that houses soft tissues, such as the nerve, blood vessels, and connective tissue. This hollow area contains a relatively wide space in the coronal portion of the tooth called the pulp chamber. These canals run through the center of the roots like pencil lead through the length of a pencil. The pulp receives nutrition through the blood vessels and sensory nerves carry signals back to the brain.

Molar Root Canal

Molar Root Canal - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterMolar Root Canal - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center

No toothache is a good toothache. But a toothache can seem especially nasty when it is one of your molar teeth, the largest teeth found in the back of your mouth. Used for chewing and grinding food, molars are important to your oral health. Without them you wouldn’t be able to eat -- and your jawbone would start to deteriorate, giving your cheeks the sunken look that’s often associated with aging.

A toothache could be a sign your molar needs a root canal -- or molar endodontics, as dentists and endodontists might refer to it. Regardless, any sign of tooth discomfort means you should see a dentist -- and fast!

Premolar Root Canal

Similar to the first premolar in coronal morphology, thesecond premolar varies mainly in root form. Its crown is narrower in thebuccal-palatal dimension and slightly wider in the mesial-distal. The canalorifice is centrally located but often appears more as a slot than as a singleovoid opening. When the slot-shaped opening appears, the clinician must assumethat the tooth has two canals until proved otherwise. The basic outline of thetooth is slightly ovoid but wider from mesial to distal than the outline of thefirst premolar. All caries and leaking restorations must be removed andreplaced with a suitable temporary restoration. Radicular morphology maypresent two separate canals, two canals anastomosing to a single canal, or twocanals with interconnections or "webbing." Accessory and lateralcanals may be present, but less often than in incisors. Vertucci and associatesstated that 75% of maxillary second premolars in their study had one canal atthe apex, 24% had two foramina, and 1% had three foramina. Of the teeth studied,59.5% had accessory canals. These clinicians also reported that when two canalsjoin into one, the palatal canal frequently exhibits a straight-line access tothe apex. They further pointed out that "if, on the direct periapicalexposure, a root canal shows a sudden narrowing, or even disappears, it meansthat at this point the canal divides into two parts, which cither remainseparate (type V) or merge (type II) before reaching the apex." The rootlength of the maxillary second molar is much like that of the first premolar;and apical curvature is not uncommon, particularly with large sinus cavities. After endodontic treatment, full occlusal coverage is mandatory to ensureagainst vertical cuspal or crown-root .

Teeth cleaning (also known as prophylaxis, literally a preventative treatment of a disease) is a procedure for the removal of tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach in routine toothbrushing. It is often done by a dental hygienist. Professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if too much tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. Recomended every six mnths!

What is laser teeth whitening all about ?

Laser teeth whitening (also known as light-activated teeth whitening) is one of the newest - and more expensive - methods available for teeth whitening. Laser treatment involves using a beam of special laser light on the desired areas of the mouth. Laser teeth whitening is popular because the procedure only takes an hour, and results can be seen instantly. The treatment begins by using bleaching agents like hydrogen peroxide gel or carbamide peroxide gel on the tooth enamel. The gel is then activated using a controlled laser light. The result is a faster, more effective procedure with results of up to a 10 shade improvement.

Below are the top three laser/light-activated teeth whitening procedures available on the market:

Zoom –The Zoom tooth whitening system by Discus Dental Inc. is very popular - thanks to aggressive marketing and a nationwide network of participating dentists. Their hydrogen peroxide based method has a 32% hydrogen peroxide gel and an activator. The gel is mixed with the activator to form a bleaching system of 25% hydrogen peroxide with a pH of 7.5 to 8.5. The system uses a mercury metal halide light within the range of 350-400nm.

Zoom is a bleaching process widely used throughout the country and around the world to lighten discoloration of enamel and dentin. Tooth discoloration may result from drinking coffee, tea, cola and red wine; or from smoking. The aging process also can stain and darken your teeth.
The Zoom in-office tooth whitening procedure uses the Zoom Advanced Power Chairside Lamp – said to accelerate the bleaching process – to activate the 25 percent hydrogen peroxide whitening. As the hydrogen peroxide is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin to bleach the stained substances, leaving the structure of the tooth unchanged.

Veneers

Veneers - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental CenterVeneers - CAD/CAM Cosmetic Technology, Dental Artistry Dental Center
Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size, or length.

Dental veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. Resin veneers are thinner and require removal of less of the tooth surface before placement. You will need to discuss the best choice of veneer material for you with us as soon as you visit!!
