What are Clear Braces?

Clear braces are braces that are made of composite materials that blend with the colour of teeth. They have transparent plastic brackets and use clear elastic or clear white metal wires to make them invisible or less noticeable. They are used to correct the alignment of the teeth of adults and adolescent patients. Fitting clear braces require two to three visits to the orthodontist. The orthodontist may take 60 to 90 minutes to fit them on the teeth of patients.

How long should I wear clear braces?

Patients may need to wear clear braces from one to five years.

Is fitting clear braces painful?

The process of fitting clear braces is not painful. Patients may feel pain or discomfort till they get used to wearing them. Getting used to braces may take about two weeks.

How are clear braces fitted?

Clear ceramic brackets are bonded to teeth and the wires are woven through them. They are held in place using elastic ties.

What care is required after fitting clear braces?

Patients should follow correct dental hygiene and brush and floss their teeth regularly. They should avoid food products or beverages that may stain the clear brackets. They should avoid eating hard and chewy food. They should take instructions about the correct method of brushing teeth from their orthodontist. They should use a fluoride mouthwash to protect their teeth from cavities during the orthodontic treatment. They should attend their orthodontist appointments correctly.

*At Crescent Dental our preference is to recommend either all porcelain crowns or porcelain bonded to white gold crowns, both of which are of the highest quality and longest lasting. On occasion a tooth may have significant damage which can not be repaired using a filling. As we recommended retaining the natural tooth where possible a patient can consider the option of crowning a tooth. This involves placing a crown over the damaged tooth. There are many different types of crowns and at Crescent Dental our preference is to recommended either all porcelain crowns or porcelain bonded to white gold crowns, both of which are of the highest quality and longest lasting. All crowns look like natural teeth once complete and are matched to your own dentition. If a tooth has been previously root treated it is often necessary to increase the strength of the tooth by placing a fitting called a post and core in the tooth. These posts improve the strenght and durability of the restored tooth. It is our policy to use laboratory fabricated white gold posts for the best clinical results.

The Dental and Orthodontic Centre

23 Bank Place, Tipperary Town
Rating from 2 Reviews Brilliant facility and amazing staffBen, Ireland, 02 Dec 16

Fast. Efficient. PAINLESS - Believe it or not. Family friendly. See below... I have been going to the dental and orthodontic clinic for two years now since moving to Tipperary. To be honest I had never been a fan of going to the dentist, and due to this my oral hygiene has suffered. I was forced to attend a dentist on account of needing a filling and was recommended the dental and orthodontic clinic by a colleague. Upon arrival of my first visit my nerves were immediately calmed by the extremely personable and friendly receptionist, I was then passed on to the resident dentist who has an incredible ability to take your mind off what is actually going on inside your mouth! My whole experience was not only painless, but also totally changed my irrational fear of going to the dentist. Following this experience I have since brought both my children to the dental and orthodontic clinic for braces, something they had not been looking forward to! But as soon as the kids arrived the clinics orthodontist explained exactly what she was going to do, and they loved it! She's got such a passion for the kids and they love visiting which makes the world of difference! As a whole they are extremely professional and highly skilled, but also great people and have a genuine interest in their patients. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone in need of dental/orthodontic treatment in or even around the area to visit the clinics brilliant facility and amazing staff.

CamDent Limited

40 Parnell Street, Limerick
Limerick Endodontics   Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp becomes inflamed or infected. The inflamation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, a blow to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess. Signs of pulp damage include pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, discoloration of the tooth, and swelling and tenderness in the nearby gums. Sometimes, there are no symptoms. The endodontist removes the inflamed or infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the inside of the tooth, then fills and seals the space. Afterwards, you will return to your dentist, who will place a crown or other restoration on the tooth to protect and restore it to full function. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth. Endodontic re-treatments for teeth that have not healed after the first root canal treatment are also performed. In advanced cases root canal surgery is performed by making a surgical incision. Referrals from other dentists are welcome at the clinic. As a specialist clinic We provide the highest quality of endodontic (ROOT CANAL) treatment available to the dental profession. All of our care is delivered with the aid of a powerful SURGICA
