Also avoid teeth grinding. 3.How long does it take to get a crown? Initially, we will remove decay, prepare the tooth to the ideal shape for the crown, and fit it with a temporary crown made of a plastic material. The amount of the tooth removed will be the same as the thickness of the crown. Once the tooth is shaped, the dentist will take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth, one of the opposite jaw and possibly another to mark the way you bite together. The impressions will then be given to the dental technician, along with an appropriate shade and other information needed for the crown to be made. On your next visit we take off the temporary crown and fit the final crown, cementing it into place so you have a new, beautiful-looking tooth. 4.What is a crown made of? Was seen by Dr. Basil Kelly at very short notice. Had tooth flare up during the night and was scheduled for surgery at the Beacon hospital on the following day . Dr Kelly accommodated me at lunchtime and extracted the tooth. His skill and execution were second to none. He is a superb dentist and a lovely compassionate man and I highly recommend him.

I have been attending Olivia for 3 years now. I can honestly say she has changed my feelings about maintaining my dental health and hygiene, as I was always nervous about going to previous dentists. The atmosphere is friendly and cheerful, and both Olivia and Jessica make me feel like part of a family. I moved to west cork a year ago and drove to Terenure for my recent appointment. Well worth the journey. I really can't recommend Greenlea Dental Centre highly enough.
