I needed 7 crowns, 2 for cosmetic reasons and the other 5 to replace very old fillings. The price is definitely more competitive than that in the USA even with dental insurance. The speed of delivery of service and the quality of the work is superb. I had visited another clinic upon a friend recommendation, but this time I did my research and found that Urzola clinic is one of the best 5 in Costa Rica. And it stands up to its reputation. From the time I sent an email inquiring about the clinic I was followed with curtesy and all my questions were answered. I even received a personal call from Dr. Urzola to discuss my plan of care ahead of time, and he was on vacation with his family!! The equipment is state of the art even though in a modest building. But that didn’t bother me. I concentrate on technique and professionalism. The rest is just gravy.

The surgeon made sure I felt at home and showed concern for my health, my comfort, and my satisfaction during every stage of the procedure. I felt respected and in the best hands one could find. As soon as I stumbled upon a review of their services I was certain it was what I needed. Every need and great care was given to me and my particular circumstances. Not speaking Spanish I would have been completely lost here without them. I was met at the airport past midnight, and driven to my accommodations which were modern, clean, very reasonably priced, and beautifully appointed. It felt like a home away from home. They took the time to bring all of my luggage up to the unit and spent some time reassuring me that they were there for me every step of the way and that I was not alone. In the 10 days that I spent here, I was never disappointed. I was brought to all of my clinic appointments, to the grocery store, the pharmacy, and anywhere I wanted or needed to go. I had a personal liaison, interpreter, guide, and friend who took my best interests to heart. If I was being overcharged somewhere they negotiated or brought me to where I would be treated fairly. I never had to worry about a thing. The surgeries were painless. I was followed very closely every day by an amazing, painless implantologist/surgeon. I received additional therapies to help in my healing process by friendly professional nurses and technicians. Truthfully, I felt pampered in every sense of the word. Seven of my family members and a few coworkers have gone to Dr Calvo for dentistry work. So while my sister was travelling to have work done that she was quoted $31,000 in the USA, I decided to go with her and have some minor work done. I was so amazed how smooth the whole process is. From the second you land at the airport and Olger picks you up, through the initial check-up by Dr Calvo and the estimate to go the work to the work being done for a fraction of the cost of US dentist. Dr Calvo and his staff are very professional, speak fluent English explains everything he can do for you and the price. While having the work done they are caring and gentle. My sisters total price was $3400 compared to the $31,000 estimate she received in the USA. She didn’t need as much as she was told by the US dentist but did receive four root canals and a bridge with six teeth, as well as a deep cleaning. All done within two visits/ two days. Surprisingly she had NO PAIN whatsoever. I just had a deep cleaning, three silver/mercury fillings I got when I was a child replaced, and a whitening treatment and paid right at $500 No pain and now I have the most shiniest teeth that I have had in years. The office is well equipped and very clean. The shopping centre is very nice and clean At the end of the shopping center is a very nice grocery store that has everything you could possibly need. So happy I finally decided to come to see for myself how wonderful Dr Calvo and Olger are. Absolutely the BEST.

We learned of Prisma Dental through International Living during one of their conferences in Costa Rica. They gave a presentation and I spoke with one of their representatives at their table during the conference. My husband and I both needed dental work. His was going to be extremely expensive in the US, so we took the leap and made an appointment online with Luis at Prisma Dental and traveled back to Costa Rica. My husband was extremely apprehensive and wanted complete sedation, but Dr Nadine Rubinstein was so gentle that she was able to remove 13 tooth roots with just numbing. He had no pain during the procedure or that evening. By the next day they had his very natural looking dentures ready! He will be back in 6 months for implants. I needed bonding on my lower front teeth and a cracked back molar fixed. I, too, was apprehensive, but with a mild sedative, Dr. Carolina Nunez built up the back molar and bonded nine lower teeth - all painlessly. The next day, she permanently cemented the new back molar. One can't even tell I had any work done - each bonding is seamless. From arranging for the appointment with Luis to being incredibly kind when we walked in the front door - topped off with the terrific work they did, it was a great experience - and the cost was a fraction of what we would have paid in the US.
