Chipped my front tooth during a vacation in Guanacaste. I contacted Dr. Diego at 10am Wednesday morning and he had me booked in later that day at 2pm. Other dentists I contacted said they couldn’t assess the tooth until the next week. Dr. Diego understood the urgency in my situation and made room for me in his schedule right away and I’m truly thankful.

From the moment I walked into Dr.Diego’s office, I felt at ease. He walked me through exactly what was needed and gave his professional advice. He fixed my tooth painlessly and professionally.

Since my experience was incredibly seamless and professional, I decided to book Dr.Diego to complete a full crown for me (which I had been delaying on in Canada). I am now revisiting Dr.Diego later this month to complete the rest of my dental work!

So far so good! I went online to check the dentist reviews in the Guanacaste area. Diago had good reviews and lots of them. I contacted two dental clinics with good reviews and Diago got back to me in a timely manner as I had left a message saying I had a toothache that was bothering me. Turned out that it was an abscess which I had suspected. He put me on antibiotics for a couple of days and then did the root canal. I have had a lot of dental work in my life and he did a good job. He was very good at explaining everything to me and went over the x-rays with me. Better yet when I told him I thought I needed my crowns replaced he explained to me why I did not so he is not out to rip you off. He seems to genuinely care for his client's welfare and I think it is very safe to recommend him to others.

Diego is a great dentist who understands the need for a patient to know the price of services before you start your treatment.

I visited Dr. Diego Vernava to replace a 15-year old partial denture with an "All on 4” dental implant. Communication with Dr. Diego was always prompt and informative whether by email or in person. Dr. Diego is an extremely likable guy who, with his easy-going manner, has a talent for putting his patients at ease. Our first face-to-face meeting was in February 2017 where he examined my teeth, recommended the “All on 4” treatment and arranged for me to get a CT Scan to check bone loss in my upper jaw.

The next visit, two months later in late April / early May 2017, involved multiple appointments over an 11-day span where I had 10 teeth extracted, four titanium posts installed, all culminating in the fitting of the dental implant. The entire 2-hour process was flawlessly executed and thanks to local anesthesia, completely painless. Following the extractions and the drilling of the post holes and installation of posts, Dr. Diego prescribed some pain killers in case I experienced some pain – incredibly, I had no need to take them. I experienced some mild discomfort due to swelling, but medication was prescribed to deal with that and it did so effectively.

The surgical process itself was conducted by Dr. Alejandro Marin and assistant surgeon Dr. Joaquin Vega who flew in from the capital, San Jose. They went to great lengths to make sure I was comfortable and feeling no pain.

Since returning to Houston, other than sounding a little like Sean Connery, I have had no problems with my new dentures and assume that my speech will adapt to them in time. After checking pricing for the same process in Houston I would conclude that this is great value for money since it was a third of the price I would have paid here. I should add that my wife was so impressed with Dr. Diego that she too decided to have him replace a crown which he did for a reasonable price.

I found Dr. Diego on the web and selected him based on reviews I read. The North Pacific Dental office, only a 10 minute drive from Tamarindo, is clean, air-conditioned and well-equipped. I would have absolutely no reservations recommending North Pacific Dental for any dental needs. All in all a very professional team.

I had many teeth missing from my mouth. I contacted Dr. Diego and provided him a full CT scan of my mouth. He reviewed it and devised a treatment plan to stabilize my mouth and provided a complete estimate of the costs. It was considerably lower than those I had received in the U.S. After reading online about other patients experiences with Dr Diego, I decided to go forward with the recommended procedure.

I chose Dr Diego and North Pacific Dental because of the online reviews, the cost of the procedure and the location of the clinic. He is a considerate and conscientious dentist with full experience of implant procedures. His English is very good and his oral surgeon Dr. Alejandro who performed the initial surgery and extraction was very professional. I would recommend Dr Diego without reservation. I would like to give him 5 stars however I am having some difficulty with my bite on the lower left which pinches my cheek a little. The ultimate responsibility to be fully informed lies with the patient. Be sure you understand what Dr Diego is proposing and the possible outcomes from the procedure.

I broke the corner of my back tooth off and had Dr. Diego in Tamarindo rebuild the tooth. Excellent job. Price was great. Very satisfied.

Over 6months I had 4 implants, 2 crowns, fillings and whitening completed with Dr Diego. I was very comfortable with Dr Diego. He explained the procedures clearly and was very concerned about my comfort. The cost compared to Canada was considerably less , even with 2 nice vacations to Tamarindo!

I would certainly recommend Dr Diego for any dental concerns. He is a kind , caring person who truly cares about your well being! I am extremely happy with the results.

My husband needed about $11,000 in dental work done in January. We decided instead to save money and go on vacation to Costa Rica! We were incredibly lucky to find Dr. Deigo. My husband had six front crowns (or veneers), and extraction, and fillings done while were were there.
The procedures were all painless, professional, state of the art, and turned out completely wonderful! He won our trust when he did not preform the unnecessary root canal that had been recommended by our local dentist. My husband's crowns are beautiful, work better that his natural teeth ever did, and he looks younger!
We not only recommend Dr Diego to everyone that needs major work done, but plan to come return to him the next time we are in need. It was the best dental experience either of us have ever had.

Clinic is clean, orderly, and easy to get to. Also across the parking lot to the grocery, so super convenient.

I visited Dr. Diego with my two daughters (ages 5 and 10) for dental checkups and cleanings. The appointments were a great value and Dr. Diego took a lot of time and care with us, as I describe below. I highly recommend his practice!

Dr. Diego was terrific with the girls. He showed my younger daughter in the mirror that she has a loose tooth and gave her a little treasure box to put it in once it falls out. He asked my older daughter to show him how she flosses, then demonstrated how to do it properly until she showed she had it figured out. When they were done, he showed them a photo of his own daughter and helped them find a video on his fancy TV while I had my cleaning. My cleaning was overdue and more of a challenge, and he took his time. Finally, he talked me out of tooth whitening by showing me in the mirror how my teeth color compared to the samples used for crowns. I was on the very white end of the spectrum. I thought it showed great character that he talked me out of spending money and made me feel great about my teeth at the same time!

I contacted Dr. Diego to see if I could get a root canal while vacationing in Tamarindo. Prior to contacting him, I saw nothing but great reviews of him online. He was very prompt to reply to my messages and questions. He arranged for Ingrid Meza Conejo, Endo specialist for my root canal. I was a bit nervous being out the the USA and getting this done, but they made me feel very comfortable and spoke very good english. The facility was clean and comfortable. The procedure went very well, no issues, no pain beyond feeling uncomfortable from the Novocaine. While getting a root canal done on vacation isn't my idea of fun, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Saved me a ton of $$$ over getting in done in the US. Great people and great service.

I knew I needed a root canal but wasn't excited about paying a ton of $$$$ in the USA. I stumbled across a review on Trip Advisor for North Pacific Dental while planning a vacation in Tamarindo (Jan 2016). I told my husband if I wasn't comfortable with Dr. Diego or Ingrid I wouldn't go through with it. They instantly won my trust and made me and my husband feel comfortable about the whole procedure.

I was here in Tamarindo last year for two months, and our neighbors were speaking about the dentist (Dr. Diego) they found here. They live here full time. This year when we decided to return to Costa Rica for three months, I asked my dentist back home in the US for my current xrays as well as a copy of their recommended treatment plan. I had my first appointment with Dr. Diego yesterday; he did two teeth which needed 4-surface filling replacements.

The experience was positive in every way. I had no discomfort whatsoever during the procedure, and none after he was done. The savings from my dentist back home was phenomenal; and I highly recommend this dental clinic. I will be returning in another month to have two more fillings replaced.
