Dentists Costa Rica

I came across Urzola Dentistry from a blog about dental tourism. I didn't even know it was a thing. Spent a couple of months researching before I started reaching out to clinics. I considered Mexico, Turkey, Costa Rica, and some others. Ultimately, I chose Costa due to the 5-hour flight, roughly the same time zone and the thousands of positive reviews on various practices and the large number of expats there. Out of the 6 places I reached out to in Costa, Urzola was the only provider that wanted to restore the natural teeth instead of replacing everything. Everywhere else just quoted a price and asked when I would like to come. The Doctor himself reached out, and we discussed what I was wanting and went over a few scenarios. That is what sold me on his office. They were not the cheapest(which I wasn't going for), nor were they the most expensive. I value quality over price any day. And they provided it. I booked my trip for February and sent the itinerary. They handled the room and airport transport to/from. I went down for my first of two visits, and everything went perfectly. Flew in on Sunday and back home on Saturday. Spent the week drinking smoothies and ice cream at the hotel directly behind the clinic. It couldn't have been easier to get there. 2-minute walk. Excellent pho spot on the first floor of the plaza and plenty of places nearby to eat or drink. Went home with a perfect smile for the temporary phase and had them for 4-5 months. Went back in July for the second phase for permanents and was able to spend some time in the city exploring museums and the local sites and food during the week I was there. I brought up a concern about the temps being too white for me, and the next shade darker was too yellow for my liking. So their excellent techs in the lab worked up something for me. I was extremely happy with the colour. The permanents have already changed my life. The care from the team can not be matched. From the International patient coordinator, who is a pure delight to talk to. Not sure how she remembers all the patients they have. To Beatriz at the desk, reaching out and coordinating appointments each day, doing X-rays upon arrival and being the point person at the office. I can not speak enough about each individual person that was part of my treatment team and how excellent they were. They worked to make sure my bite was perfect and comfortable before I left to come home. I plan on going back yearly for checkups and cleaning. I had an amazing experience with the Urzola team and recommend them to anyone looking to have any amount of dental work done.

Dr. Cruz’s expertise is evident in her precise, thoughtful approach to treatment, and the practice’s investment in advanced medical equipment ensures diagnostics and procedures are both accurate and comfortable. It’s a practice that prioritises clinical excellence without sacrificing patient comfort—exactly what you hope to find in quality dental care.

The clinic and staff were wonderful. The staff took the time to explain everything before working on me. They were so thorough and kind. They made me feel very comfortable. they were very helpful helping me make all the arrangements to get there. I will come back to do my dental work.

I went to their clinic in early February. They did a great job an no editing around like most dental clinics. I ended getting a dry sicket which messed my schedule up but they went out of their way to get me back and going. The work was excellent and I highly recommend them. They are professional and accommodating.

I had extensive implant work done, and started with another dentist. Dr. Vargas REPAIRED the poor work I had done before and spent an HOUR perfecting the look of a front tooth. He also caught periodontal work that was needed. I had forgotten to mention it in the stress of dealing with the bad work from the other dentist office. Patient and kind. Their work is first class.

Dr. Josef Cordero and his wife, Dr. Telma Rubinstein, bring nearly half of century of experience to their dental practice. Their daughter, Dr. Nadine Cordero contributes unstoppable energy to the team. They are supported by other dedicated members, including Dr. Coraline Nunes, Dr. Roberto Hernandes and Dr. Alejandro Montero. What truly sets this team apart is their passion for their work, which goes beyond financial motivation. In our opinion, this is one of the best dental family businesses in the world. With modern equipment and dental lab inside what can be done in U.S. for years, in Dr. Cordero's office can be done in days with better quality and around a half of the U.S. crazy prices. My wife and I highly recommend them. Our review is based not only on our own opinion, but also on the options of other patients who we interacted with while getting treatment there for one week in April 2025.

Dr was able to see me right away. Fixed my issue promptly and continued with exceptional service as more visits were required.

Excellent gum graft surgeon and surgery process. I am so pleased with the results. I was scared going into surgery (what if it didn't take?), but the doctor made me feel at ease and did a masterpiece with the gum graft, even without an assistant! (there was an emergency she had to take care of). I decided to get the surgery in CR in between many travel plans, and surprisingly, many friends were wary of my decision until they saw how beautifully it's all healed. Post care is also very important. I bought the recommended products, didn't need pain meds, had daily protein shakes, and cleaned after every meal with loving care. 10/10
