Southwest Smiles

2015 will mark my ninth year practicing dentistry and from humble beginnings feel that I am truly finding my stride. My current philosophy is shaped by my experiences in private practice thus far. When I graduated from the U of A dental program in 2006 I was asked to remain at the school as a clinical instructor. It has been said that the highest form of learning is to teach, and in my experience this is irrefutable. When I first began teaching I was surprised to be challenged again and again. The students are sharp, and they force the understanding of fundamentals to refinement and depth. I was lucky to find an associateship at Meadowlark Dental Centre where under the guidance of two experienced mentors Dr. Ken Luft and Dr. Ed McIntyre I was encouraged to explore my interest in surgery and dental implants. I formed a relationship with Nobel Biocare, the worlds largest dental implant company, and, quite to my surprise and without intention have become one of their top partners.

I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science degree (H.BSc.) at the University of Toronto and then graduated summa cum laude for my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD).I have been asked several times in my past, why dentistry? I believe the best part of dentistry is the long-term relationships I am able to build with my patients. Knowing that a patient can trust in me whole-heartedly to provide the best possible service is really an amazing privilege that I would never take for granted. My ultimate goal is to provide a service that will benefit not only the oral health of my patients, but their overall health as well, and at the same time creating smiles that promote confidence. I’ll never forget the first time my patient told me that they smile much more often and never try to hide their smile anymore. This is the standard of care I believe in and I am delighted to have found an office that shares the same standards to which I hold myself. I look forward to meeting and serving all of you in the Southwest community!
