Private Patients Welcome

Dr Paul Schneider

As an orthodontist, I have the unique ability to contribute to the health, well-being and improved self esteem of so many people. I enjoy getting to know every patient who comes through our doors, and watching our young patients "come out of their shell" as their appearance and comfort improve throughout orthodontic treatment. My team and I are here to change lives for the better, and we strive for perfection in everything we do.Australian Society of Orthodontists World Federation of Orthodontists American Association of Orthodontics Fellow International College Dentists Australian Dental Association Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry. After practicing orthodontics for almost 30 years, I still love coming to the clinic every day. My father was a dentist, and I learned from him the value of exceptional patient care. Each patient I see presents a different clinical challenge as well as an opportunity for a personal connection. I enjoy taking the time to know each person I look after, and giving them a positive orthodontic experience. One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is seeing patients at a young age, so that the most appropriate treatment can be done at the right time in their development. Getting the timing right is one of the most challenging parts of orthodontics, and it is truly rewarding when I know a patient has received the optimal level of care. My training and experience as a paediatric dentist before becoming an orthodontist enhanced my interest in guiding the development of the young person's teeth, jaws and face. A commitment to educating the next generation of orthodontists has led me to accept the role of Associate Professor and Head of Orthodontics at the University of Melbourne.

Job Title:
Before becoming an orthodontist, I graduated from the dental school at the University of Melbourne. I was in general practice in Melbourne for 12 years before obtaining my Masters Degree in Orthodontics at the St. Louis University, USA, where I received the J.P. Marshall Award. In addition to seeing patients, I now actively teach at the University of Melbourne, which allows me to pass on and share information and knowledge to future orthodontists. Education is incredibly important to me, and I know that as an orthodontist, I must always provide the most effective and efficient treatments for my patients. I am always looking for the highest quality services to help me give my patients the smiles of their dreams. As part of my continuing education, I am active in the following professional organizations: Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics Australian Dental Association Australian Society of Orthodontics World Federation of Orthodontists American Society of Orthodontists

Dr Alwyn Wong

I graduated from The University of Melbourne Dental School first in Dentistry with Honours, followed by a three year specialty degree in Orthodontics where I received the Sam Bulkley Rocky Mountain award. Upon completing my orthodontic education here in Australia, I undertook further education to acquire international experience. I was fortunate to have been a traveling fellow at the University of Michigan (Orthodontics Department) and New York University Hospital (Craniofacial unit), lecturing at both these institutions and the University of Florence, Italy. Education however, never ends. There are always new developments. Keeping abreast of the latest scientific and technological advances in my field allows me to ensure that my patients are receiving the very best care possible. Every patient deserves world-class orthodontic treatment that is contemporary and progressive, and I am driven to strive for perfection for each and every patient. As part of my continuing studies, I take courses and seminars through the Australian Society of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists and the American Association of Orthodontists. I am involved in the undergraduate dental teaching program at the University of Melbourne and Latrobe University to ensure that future graduating dentists are kept up to date in the field of orthodontics.
