Dr Lidums is pas­sion­ate and enthu­si­as­tic about dentistry. He has devoted more than 27 years devel­op­ing one of Australia’s lead­ing prac­tices. Dr Lidums has been in den­tal prac­tice 27 years (3 years solely in gen­eral den­tistry, 24 years exclu­sively in Prostho­don­tics) includ­ing sev­eral years prac­tic­ing in Mel­bourne and Lon­don and as a Spe­cial­ist con­sul­tant to the RAAF.

He has a wealth of expe­ri­ence and train­ing in the art, sci­ence and tech­nol­ogy of advanced den­tal care. He com­bines a per­son­alised patient-focused approach with inno­va­tion to pro­duce very sat­is­fy­ing results.

Dr Lidums enjoys being at the fore­front of den­tal sci­ence and art and has com­mit­ted to ongo­ing pro­fes­sional devel­op­ment since com­plet­ing his spe­cial­ist train­ing. Receiv­ing fur­ther train­ing from some of the world’s den­tal pio­neers has ensured that Lidums Den­tal is regarded as one of Australia’s leading-edge practices.

Reas­sur­ingly, expe­ri­enced Den­tists, Den­tal Spe­cial­ists, Doc­tors and Cos­metic Sur­geons from around Aus­tralia trust Dr Lidums to per­form treat­ment in their own mouths as well as refer­ring their own patients.

With broad inter­na­tional expe­ri­ence, Peter has been in den­tal prac­tice for over 20 years. He has prac­ticed in the UK, where he under­took post­grad­u­ate restora­tive train­ing at the renowned East­man Den­tal Hos­pi­tal, then worked in Viet­nam and New Zealand before emi­grat­ing to Aus­tralia in 2004 to train as a Spe­cial­ist Prostho­don­tist in Sydney.

Peter com­pleted his Mas­ters in Prostho­don­tics with Hon­ours from the Uni­ver­sity of Syd­ney in 2007 and then worked closely with the peri­odon­tal depart­ment to fur­ther his implant sur­gi­cal expe­ri­ence and to pro­vide sur­gi­cal and prostho­don­tic treat­ment for implant research projects. In 2006 he became a Fel­low by exam­i­na­tion of The Royal Aus­tralasian Col­lege of Den­tal Sur­geons in the spe­cial­ist stream of Prostho­don­tics. His tal­ents were quickly iden­ti­fied and he has been involved with the train­ing and exam­i­na­tion of gen­eral den­tists and spe­cial­ist den­tists in Ade­laide, Mel­bourne and Sydney.

Peter has devel­oped a rare under­stand­ing of both the poten­tial of tra­di­tional prostho­don­tics tech­niques and the value of the lat­est meth­ods and mate­ri­als. His par­tic­u­lar focus is in assist­ing his patients to achieve what they desire from their den­ti­tions, with modal­i­ties rang­ing from min­i­mal inter­ven­tion pre­ven­ta­tive strate­gies to enable long-term func­tion through to high-end cos­met­i­cally opti­mal recon­struc­tions. Dr Hell has a par­tic­u­lar inter­est in Den­tal Implant Surgery, with a focus on surgery planned and exe­cuted to pro­vide the opti­mal foun­da­tions for beau­ti­ful, func­tional replace­ment teeth.

In 2010, we were for­tu­nate to have him join Lidums Den­tal. We wel­come his enthu­si­asm and gen­er­ous nature. Not only is he a tal­ented clin­i­cian and teacher, but he also has a great sense of humour and is well liked by patients, refer­ring den­tists and other team members.
