What is Snap-On Smile?

Snap-On Smile is a cosmetic removable customized arch that is fitted on the teeth of patients who want an instant smile makeover to quickly improve the appearance of their smile. It is usually cheaper than other options. Some dentists also place Snap-On Smile as a temporary smile for patients who are waiting for crowns, veneers or implant restorations to be placed on their teeth. It also serves as an attractive mouth guard to prevent teeth grinding. It takes three weeks to make a Snap-On Smile.

How is the Snap-On Smile procedure performed?

Patients are asked to choose the style and shade of the smile they want on the first visit. The dentist then takes an impression. A thin strong arch is made using resin.  Once the arch is ready, the dentist fits the arch on the existing teeth of the patient.      

How long will Snap-On Smile last?

Snap-On Smile has a limited warranty for a year. It lasts for a year if worn every day. If the patient wears snap on smile only for special occasions it can last from three to five years.

Is fitting Snap-On Smile painful?

Snap-On Smile is fitted over the natural teeth of patients. No preparation or drilling is required and it is a pain free procedure. Patients need to get used to their snap on smile and may have difficulty speaking or eating for a few days.  

Can I travel by air after fitting Snap-On Smile?

Patients can travel by air after fitting a Snap-On Smile. It is a removable dental device and if patients feel uncomfortable, they can remove the arch and wear it after the end of their journey.  

What is the recovery time after fitting Snap-On Smile?

There is no preparation required for fitting Snap-On Smile and therefore patients will have no pain. Patients may need a day or two to speak and bite comfortably after adjusting to a Snap-On Smile.  

What care is required after fitting Snap-On Smile?

Patients should remove the Snap-On Smile and brush it after every meal. Patients should remove their Snap-On Smile before going to bed unless otherwise recommended by their dentist. Patients should avoid hard food products to ensure that their Snap-On Smile does not break. They should carefully store their Snap-On Smile in its case when not in use.
