Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation using the LipoStructure technique takes much longer than traditional breast augmentation. The fragile fatty tissue must be harvested slowly and gently. The fat is then placed into the breast not only so that it will create an aesthetic, natural appearance, but also so that the newly transplanted fat has a chance to survive.

Gynecomastia

The treatment of this condition is to remove the excess fat and breast tissue with either suctioning or excision. When the tissue is excised, an incision is generally made around the areola (colored skin around the nipple) and excess tissue is cut out. The skin is closed with sutures (either on the skin or below it). There is some moderate pain afterwards, and activity must be restricted for a couple of weeks, but patients can normally return to work in a day or two. Sometimes the excess tissue can be removed by liposuction only through a very small incision, usually under the breast or in the border of the areola.

Nose

The nose is an area we usually don’t think about in terms of filling or enlarging. However, irregularities, bumps, scars and imperfections can be smoothed and reshaped with the addition of structural fat. Skin cancers of the nose are common, and treatment often leaves an unattractive defect and scarring. Fat can be placed to soften the scars and fill in the defect. Likewise, a bump on the nose can be disguised by placing fat above and below the area, and visible cartilage in the nasal tip from a bad “nose job” can be camouflaged. But LipoStructure fat grafts into the nose are most useful for rejuvenation and correcting nose deformities from previous nose operations.

Treatment for Wrinkles

One of the most popular, and least invasive, ways to improve lines, wrinkles, sunken areas and even change the shape of your face is with injectable products. Injectables come in two major classes: neurotoxins and fillers or volumizers. The most common areas for neurotoxins are the forehead, the area between the brows (“frown lines”), and the crowsfeet (lines at the corner of the eyes). Neurotoxins can also be used to help turn up a down-turned mouth, reduce dimpling of the chin, improve upper lip lines (like smoker’s lines), smooth the jawline by softening the pull of the neck “bands” (muscles that run from the back of the jaw to the chest) and even reduce underarm sweating.

Dr Sydney Coleman - at TriBeCa Plastic Surgery

Dr Sydney Coleman

Biography:
During his first year of medical school at the University of Texas, Dr. Coleman began interviewing adolescents with severe facial burns.

He began “scrubbing in” on cases of severe birth defects as well as the burned children he had come to know. Dr. Coleman’s early experiences in medicine convinced him of the importance of the face in relating emotions and the conditions of a person’s inner self to the outside world.

The fascination of making souls visible to the outside world by altering facial structures eventually became the focus of Dr. Coleman’s career.

After Dr. Coleman received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Texas, he performed his internship and general surgery residency at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. He went on to complete a three-year plastic surgery residency at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.

During this time, he studied Aesthetic and Craniofacial Surgery with Fernando Ortiz-Monastario in Mexico City and completed a fellowship in Microsurgery at the R.K. Davies Hospital in San Francisco.
