Breast Augmentation
Once you are asleep or fully sedated, surgeons will cut the incision where they will insert the new breast implant. Several options are available. Which one you and your surgeon choose depends on how much enlargement you would like to have and your anatomy. After the incision, there are two different ways the breast enlargement surgeon will insert and position the breast implants. One option is a sub-muscular placement under the pectoral muscle. Essentially, the implant will be placed in between the breast muscle and ribs. The other option places the implant behind the breast tissue over the pectoral muscle, which is also known as a sub-mammary or sub-glandular placement. The method of inserting and positioning breast implants depends on their type, the degree of desired enlargement, your body type and recommendations of the surgeon. Finally, the incisions are closed back up using layered sutures in the breast tissue and the skin is closed up using sutures, skin adhesive or surgical tape. Incision lines will fade over time and you will have your goal of fuller, firmer breasts.

Facelift
The procedure that Dr. Mast recommends for minimally invasive facelift is called the MACS Facelift. MACS stands for Minimal Access Cranial Suspension. This technique uses an incision which is about one half the length of a conventional facelift and is dependent on suspension sutures to pull up the deeper tissues and the overlying skin. This technique has been subjected to excellent research studies and has been published in the top Plastic Surgery journals. The procedure provides the same or nearly the same results as the conventional facelift in properly selected patients, while allowing quicker recovery with less risk for complications. Safety is our number one priority. Using the MACS Facelift adheres to this ideal: it is a procedure that has been documented as an effective and safe technique, the results are long lasting. Other minimally invasive face lift procedures you may have heard of include the Thread Lift and the Lifestyle Lift. Due to a number of reasons, including lack of significant research studies on the surgery technique, Dr. Mast does not offer these procedures.

Rhinoplasty
Once the anesthesia takes effect, Florida nose surgeons will employ either a closed procedure where the incisions are hidden in the nose or an open procedure where an incision is made across what’s called the columella…that’s the narrow strip of tissue separating the nostrils. These incisions give surgeons the access they need to reshape your nose. Once they’re able to go beneath your skin and depending on your particular situation, surgeons will either reduce nasal structures or augment them using a cartilage graft from some other part of your body. Most likely, surgeons will obtain this cartilage from the septum, or the partition that separates your nostrils. They can also obtain this cartilage graft from the ear or a subsection of rib cartilage. If necessary, surgeons will also straighten the septum and reduce projections inside the nose to help you breathe better. Once surgeons sculpt your nose to your desired shape, they will redrape your nasal skin and tissue and close the incisions. They may place additional incisions in your nostril’s natural creases to alter their size. Most people who undergo anesthesia have no problems but it varies from person to person. You may take awhile to wake up or you will abruptly and when you do, you may feel hot, cold or a bit numb. You may even feel a little nauseous and go through either a crying or giggling spell. Don’t worry, it’s all normal and surgeons will be there watching you as the anesthesia wears off. To support the nose during recovery, surgeons will place splints and internal tubes. Internal swelling should subside within a few weeks but it may take up to a year for your new nasal contours to be fully refined, during which time you may notice gradual changes in your nose’s appearance as it develops into a more permanent outcome. Swelling may also come and go during this time.

Tummy Tuck
A tummy tuck is a quick plastic surgery procedure that’s performed under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation at our outpatient surgery center. Surgeons will decide which one to use during your initial consultation. DO NOT EAT BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. After the anesthesia takes its effect, UF surgeons will begin cutting the incisions. First, they cut a horizontal incision on the lower abdomen. The length of this incision is determined during the initial consultation. Through this incision, surgeons will tighten weakened abdominal muscles and remove excess fat and skin. Sometimes an incision around the navel is required to remove excess skin in the upper abdomen. Take a look at the pictures below for an illustration of these incisions and sutures (stitches). After University of Florida tummy tuck surgeons complete their repair of muscles and removal of skin and fat, they will close the incisions with dissolvabloe stitches and skin glue. They will place bandages over the treated area. Results of an abdominoplasty are apparent once the surgeons complete the procedure. You will see some swelling at first and have difficulty standing fully upright until internal healing is complete but this should begin to improve a week or two after surgery. Most people who are administered anesthesia have no problems, but everyone is different. It may take awhile to wake up or it can happen abruptly, but when you do, you may feel hot, cold or a bit numb. You may even feel a little nauseous and go through either a crying or giggling spell. Don’t worry, it’s all normal and your surgeon will be watching over you as the anesthesia wears off. or collagen, take only a few minutes and produce immediate results. They are very quick and painless, with many patients electing to take care of the procedure during their lunch hour. Results are noticeable immediately and depending on the type of injection you choose, can last up to one year. Here are a few examples of how dermal fillers can help smooth facial wrinkles and improve your appearance. These patients boosted the level of collagen in their skin to yield a more youthful, vibrant look.

Treatment for Wrinkles
is an effective, nonsurgical solution to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines that mainly occur between the eyebrows. During treatment, a very low dose of Cosmetic is injected directly into the facial muscles that cause those stubborn frown lines. These intramuscular injections help block chemicals that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them.
