About Spire Methley Park Hospital

Methley Park is a spire healthcare hospital and prides itself on its wide range of services from cosmetic surgery to diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy, to a one stop breast clinic, through to major orthopaedic procedures that are all provided by specialist teams of doctors and nurses in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Methley Park Hospital has recently opened a dedicated, modern Plastic Surgery Suite that has been specially designed with our cosmetic surgery patients needs in mind. This multispecialty hospital in Methley, Leeds, has 3 operating theatres, 2 operating theatres with laminar flow, 10 consulting rooms, 27 private single rooms, and one critical care level bed.

Treatments in all medical disciplines are offered. GPs can register with the hospital to refer their patients to specialists. Patients can use private medical insurance or pay for their procedures themselves. Working in partnership with first class consultants and recruiting the highest calibre of staff, Methley Park Hospital is committed to providing the best care and personal attention for all its patients. Many of the consultants who work with us are renowned specialists in their field. All are required to be on the specialist register of the General Medical Council and to satisfy stringent criteria to be eligible to practice at our hospital. We expect the same exacting standards from our nursing staff who are highly qualified and dedicated to looking after their patients in a sympathetic and professional manner. Mr George Spyrou is a highly qualified substantive NHS Consultant in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. 

Mr Spyrou gained his basic medical qualification in Greece before relocating to the UK in 1992. After four years of basic training in general and plastic surgery he qualified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in 1996. Following that he undertook a pioneering research project in the management of scars at the University of Bradford. He submitted his thesis in 1998 and was awarded the higher degree of Master of Philosophy (MPhil) for his period of research. Following my graduation from Manchester University in 1999, I spent 5 years gaining experience in a wide variety of surgical specialties in the greater Manchester region. In 2005 I made the move across the pennines and spent the next 6 years as a Specialist Registrar in Orthopaedics honing my skills as a surgeon in many of the local hospital in Yorkshire including 1 year at Pinderfields.I undertook a specialist knee surgery fellowship in Sheffield in 2010 working alongside 2 of the UK’s most renowned knee surgeons.
