I wanted to share my experience having labiaplasty surgery with Dr. Mahajan at Evolve Medical clinic in Leeds, as I know how nerve-wracking it can be to research this procedure and find the right surgeon. Initial Consultation From the very first consultation, Dr. Mahajan put me completely at ease. His approach was both friendly and thoroughly professional - he took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions without making me feel embarrassed, and never rushed the appointment. I felt genuinely listened to and understood, which meant everything when discussing such a personal procedure. Surgery Day I'll be honest - I was quite apprehensive about being awake during the procedure. The anaesthetic injections were very uncomfortable initially, but Dr. Mahajan and his team were incredibly reassuring throughout. Once the local anaesthetic took effect, the procedure itself was surprisingly comfortable, at times when I felt a slight pinch more anaesthesia was injected. I felt very relaxed throughout. The nurses and team at Evolve deserve a special mention - they were absolutely wonderful. So caring and supportive from the moment I arrived until I was settled in the recovery room. Their kindness and professionalism made such a difference to my experience. Recovery Process The first few weeks post-surgery were challenging, I won't sugarcoat it! There was significant swelling and I was quite uncomfortable, but paracetamol helped take the edge off the discomfort along with taking things very easy. Practical recovery details: • I wore sanitary pads for around 6 days post-surgery as there is a fair amount of spotting during this time • Toileting required extra care - I used a water bottle spray and very gently dabbed dry with wet tissues - this careful routine continued for about 4-5 weeks • After removing the pads, I was most comfortable in some comfy baggy trousers with no underwear for 4 weeks (the underwear seemed to rub a little too much) • I could walk around the house immediately and managed gentle walks outside within the first week • I returned to work after 2 weeks (I'd definitely recommend taking the full 2 weeks off work or any activities) • Sitting for long periods remained uncomfortable for 4-5 weeks, but from the 4-week mark, each day got progressively better • I applied a bit of Vaseline from week 4 onwards to prevent clothes rubbing • The dissolvable stitches were completely gone by 4 weeks • I avoided strenuous exercise for 8 weeks and returned to all my normal activities (including biking and swimming) by week 10 At my follow-up appointment, Dr. Mahajan showed me my before and after pictures, and I genuinely couldn't believe the transformation. The results exceeded all my expectations. Final Thought I am absolutely over the moon with my results and honestly cannot recommend Dr. Mahajan highly enough. From the initial consultation through to the surgery day and follow-up appointments, his care has been exceptional. But beyond his wonderful bedside manner, the actual surgical work is incredible. If you're considering this procedure and researching surgeons in the Leeds area, I would wholeheartedly recommend booking a consultation with Dr. Mahajan at Evolve Medical. The entire experience, while challenging during recovery, has been life-changing for me!
