Academic Hospital – Harvard School of Medicine Collaboration

Our hospital, the pioneer academic private hospital of Turkey, with a vision to offer global developments to our citizens as and when they develop, signed a partnership agreement with Harvard Medical School in February 2012. Thanks to this agreement, our patients will be able to receive professional support from Partners Health Care (system operator of hospitals under Harvard University) during their diagnosis and treatment process. Our patients will be able to receive treatment from Harvard University group hospitals via Academic Hospital, as and when necessary. Thanks to this programme, patients of Academic Hospital will be able to receive treatment planning and care at world standards. To date, numerous patients have received treatment through the Harvard Medical School partnership in fields such as medical oncology, urology oncology, pathology, hematology and pulmonology.

Hair Transplant

I've been to Turkey a number of times for different procedures and I have to say, this was probably the best, cleanest hospital I've ever seen. State of the art. I had a hair transplant not so long ago, and my experience was amazing start to finish. The doctors and nurses were superb, very reassuring and constantly asking if I'm comfortable. The procedure itself didn't take forever, and it was all done in about 3.5-4 hours which is quick for a transplant. This doesn't mean it wasn't thorough. It just means they got on with it and worked as fast as possible. My results look amazing and my head looks really full, which means they did a very good job. Couldn't recommend this hospital enough. Smells clean. Looks like a 5-star hotel. Lovely staff. Gave a good selection of aftercare products.

Mr Yavuz Ozek was my consultant through the whole process of my hair Transplant. It's now 6 weeks since the day and I can see the early benefits of it already

I decided on Academic after looking at many. I spoke with them for sometime over the weeks and felt confident about the procedure and value for money.

I booked the DHI method and ended up having 2700 transplants.
The whole trip/procedure was very smooth and organised. I was catered for and had all my questions answered. Before and after the procedure day. The whole team were great and felt at ease. I won't lie and say the transplants were pleasant but I was comfortable as much as I could be. The recovery time was so quick and felt fine the next day. I did book an extra night which I would recommend just for things to heal and be close to the clinic if I had any concerns. Which I didn't in the end. It's now 6 weeks since the day and I can see the early benefits of it already. After 2 weeks my scalp was back to normal and original hair almost covering the donor area. Without a doubt, I would recommend Academic, great team, great aftercare and a great price compared to others. Highly recommended.

Dr. Selahattin Tulunay began to study medicine in Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1974 – 1975 academic year. In 1981, he was graduated with the title of Medical Doctor, and began to serve as an assistant in Istanbul University Cerrahpasha Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1982.
After being a specialist on November 1987, Op. Dr. Selahattin Tulunay began to do his military service in Ankara GATA (Gulhane Military Medical Academy) in 1988. Dr. Selahattin Tulunay completed his military service in Ankara GATA Burn Center (a real burn center in all aspects) that he considered to be the second place where he received education as an assistant.
In late 1988, he began to serve as an educator in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic of Sisli Etfal Hospital, in his capacity of chief assistant. After continuing his studies in some private hospitals and serving as a chief physician in a private hospital for a period of 7 years, Dr. TULUNAY was promoted as the Consultant of BAHAT SAGLIK GRUBU (Bahat Healthcare Group) and as the director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department of 4 hospitals owned by this group, in February 2006.
