Born in Istanbul in 1979, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güncel Öztürk developed an early connection to the visual arts through his father, a sculptor. Influenced by his artistic background, he created numerous sculptures and paintings before pursuing a career in medicine.
Dr. Öztürk graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine with a Medical Doctor degree in 2003 and subsequently began his specialisation in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at the same institution after achieving a high score in the Medical Specialisation Examination (TUS).
As part of his six-year specialist training, he completed advanced training in rhinoplasty and facial aesthetics at Yale University, New Haven Hospital in the USA, under John A. Persing, MD, FACS, in 2006. In 2007, he furthered his training in rhinoplasty and breast aesthetics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami.
Following the completion of his specialist training, Dr. Öztürk became a Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He subsequently completed his military service at Malatya Military Hospital and his compulsory service at Sivas Numune Hospital, both within their respective plastic and reconstructive surgery departments
