Dr Manuel Tafalla

Dr. Manuel Tafalla is a highly experienced plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon with a distinguished career spanning decades in clinical practice, education, and professional leadership. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of Alicante between 1987 and 1993 and further developed his surgical expertise as an internal student in the Chair of Surgical Pathology at San Juan Hospital in Alicante under the guidance of Prof. J. Medrano Heredia. In 1994, Dr. Tafalla obtained a residency position in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery through Spain's highly competitive MIR system. He also completed doctoral studies in Surgical Anatomy and Pathology at the Faculty of Alicante, strengthening his academic and scientific foundation in surgery. Throughout his career, Dr. Tafalla has been recognized for his contributions to the field of plastic surgery. He received an award for the Surgical Video with the Greatest Scientific and Educational Content in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for his presentation, “Orthognathic Surgery: Combined Maxillo-Mandibular Osteotomy,” at the Fifth National Video Surgery Congress in Alicante. Dr. Tafalla has played an active role in advancing his specialty through professional organizations, serving on the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery during 1997 and 1998. In recognition of his professional achievements, he was inducted as a Full Member of the Ramón y Cajal Academy of Health Sciences in 2018. He was also awarded the Gold Medal and Diploma by the Spanish Association of Image Professionals in recognition of his outstanding professional career.
