His goal is the happiness of everyone associated with The Best You.The son of an artist (Halide Akyurekli) and accomplished Heart Surgeon (Dr. Yasar Akyurekli) Dr. Akyurekli inherited and cultivated both his artistic and scientific qualities. It was his lifelong dream to help improve people’s quality of life through cosmetic enhancement.Dr. Akyurekli specializes in surgery of the face and neck. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at the University of Ottawa, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1989. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from medicine in 1993 and completed residency training in Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) and became a fellow of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1998.In 1998 he joined The Department of Surgery at the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound and was the Chief of Surgery from 2000-2003.In 2002, he became a Diplomat of The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and founded The Best You, Centre for Personal Enhancement.He performs over 1000 surgeries a year and remains up to date with evolving techniques and technologies in order to offer his clients the most effective and proven services and products.
