Breast Implant Surgery, or Boob Job or Breast Augmentation Surgery, is performed to give women fuller and more rounded breasts.  It is popular among women who have lost breast volume because of weight loss or after childbirth and breast feeding. It is also performed for breast cancer patients who have undergone mastectomy surgery, to reconstruct their breasts.

How is Breast Implant Surgery done?

Breast Implant Surgery is performed either by a fat transfer procedure to increase the volume of breasts or by making incisions and inserting silicone gel or saline filled implants to increase the size of breasts. Depending on the patient's requirements they can be inserted above or underneath the muscle tissue of the breast and be inserted through incisions made underneath the breast or under the armpit.  The surgeon should explain the benefits of each type of procedure.

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery, which the size and shape of the breasts can be changed. The surgery is mostly performed by women , who had always been small breasts or women who have been through pregnancy or weight loss  that has led to less firm or smaller breasts Breasts are made of fatty tissue, glandular tissue, blood vessels, nerves, milk ducts, and lymph nodes, all covered with skin .  The shape of the breast is determined mainly by the elasticity of the skin , and the relationship between adipose tissue and tissue. Young breasts consist primarily of glandular tissue and are firm .  Over the years, the glandular tissue is gradually replaced by fat tissue , which is soft . By gravity and the reduction of skin elasticity breast may hang as age progresses . Pregnancy and weight loss also have an impact on the shape of the breasts.  Breasts contain no muscles , so exercises to enlarge breasts have no effect .

A breast lift is a procedure that sagging breasts are corrected .  With a breast reduction excess fat and/or tissue is removed. Through weight loss, loss of elasticity with aging, pregnancy or lactation , the breasts may sag . This creates a deep breast crease and the nipple is often below the breast crease . A breast lift will improve the shape and firmness of the breasts . The breast are not only weakened but additionally lost volume , it is possible to combine with Mastopexy the insertion of a breast prosthesis to add volume. Alternatively own body fat can be transferred in the breast to add volume if needed. This also applies if the nipples are not too low. The more the breast hangs down, the greater the need for breast prosthesis or lipofilling is to be. At moderate sag we will increase by one or two cups sizes to create firmer breasts. The advantage here is that the scars are still very limited, the feeling in the nipple is preserved and lactation usually remains possible. Women with large, heavy breasts, often experience back pain. This is definitely a reason to consider breast reduction. The plastic surgeon will be fitting in consultation with the patient a cup size in proportion to the body . By performing a breast reduction often a lifting effect is obtained on the breasts so the woman not only get beautiful and smaller breasts but also will experience noteworthy firmer breasts.
