Arm Lift

This is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm.

Loss of weight or change of lifestyle to include exercise can alter the shape of the arms. Surgery on the upper arm can help to re-shape the skin and fat of the upper arm to improve the contour of the limb.

It may involve liposuction, removal of skin and fat, or a combination of both surgical techniques. Depending on how much loose tissue is present, the scars can be minimal and may be located in the skin of the arm pit, or in severe cases run the entire length of the upper arm.

Mr Brown can advise you the technique that will be appropriate for you. However, in most cases, surgery can be undertaken as a day procedure.

Why would I choose to have an Upper Arm Lift?

• To remove upper arm skin that has become loose and flabby during the ageing process.
• To improve the contour of the arm following weight loss

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery is an option for women who are trying to ease the physical symptoms caused by the weight of excessively large breasts. The procedure is called “Reduction Mammoplasty” and is available to all healthy women.

It is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of excessive breast tissue and reshaping of the breast. In addition to making the breast smaller, it repositions the breast higher on the chest, decreasing the amount of ‘sag’.

Why would I choose to have a Breast Reduction?

• To reduce breast size when breasts are heavy and pendulous or too large for the body frame.
• To improve posture and ease pain in the back, neck and shoulders
• To relieve pain in breast tissue, particularly around menstruation.
• To allow a greater range of physical activity
• To raise the position of downward pointing nipples and aerolas
• To improve self-confidence in a woman who is embarrassed about her breast size
• In women with a strong family history of breast cancer or multiple lumps in large breast, this procedure may provide the surgeon with an opportunity to carefully examine breast tissue

Brow Lift

A Browlift, or “Forehead Lift”, is a surgical procedure to reduce the angry, lined or tired look of the brows by reducing skin and repositioning the muscles in the brow. It can create a subtle, rejuvenated appearance or a significant arch of the eyebrow.

In many cases, brow lift has now been superceded by injectable products that are able to reduce the pull of gravity on the brow, allowing it to elevate.

However, in some instances, the brow has fallen so much that surgery is required to re-suspend it into its correct position. Generally this can be achieved via a number of small incisions in the hairline, and it can be undertaken as day case surgery.

Why would I choose to have this surgical treatment?

• To make the face and particularly the area around the eyes appear younger, smoother and calmer

Facelift

The aim of facelift surgery is to reduce the signs of ageing by improving the contours of the face and neck. An individual strategy is created for each client.

The surgery involves the tightening and removal of sagging skin on the face and neck, and the removal of excess fat. Facial muscles are surgically tightened, improving their tone.

A facelift may be undertaken alone, or it can be combined with other surgical procedures such as a browlift or eyelid lift. The bone structure of the face is not changed during facelift surgery.

The outcome of surgery depends on the person’s age, the degree of aging, facial skin looseness, lifestyle and the procedure undertaken.

Why would I choose to have this surgical treatment?

• To make the face and skin appear younger and smoother.
• To correct signs of aging such as facial lines and wrinkles, sagging facial skin or a "turkey gobbler" neck.

Neck Lift

As we get older, the skin in the neck tends to sag, and fatty deposits accumulate under the chin. These can be addressed either as part of a face lift procedure or sometimes as a separate procedure, using a combination of liposuction and a small incision to tighten the muscles under the chin.

Both procedures can be undertaken as a day case and usually require a general anaesthetic.

Why would I choose to have a Neck Lift?

• To improve the appearance of an ageing neck
• To produce a more defined neck in any adult age group

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the angle and shape of protruding or uneven ears in children and adults. Otoplasty is also called pinnaplasty, or “pinning back the ears”, or correction of the ears.

The surgeon reshapes part of the cartilage in the ears, allowing them to lie closer to the side of the head, and reproducing natural folds that may be absent in the normal ear.

In some situations, if the size and shape of the ears do not match, the surgeon may work on only one ear to make it more similar in shape and appearance to the other ear. There are a number of options available.

Patients who are healthy and have realistic expectations about what the surgery can achieve, are suitable for this surgery.

Why would I choose  to have this surgical treatment?

• To reshape the ears
• To make the ears asymmetrical
• To increase self-confidence

A thigh lift is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the legs. It is not a surgical procedure for being overweight.

Tummy Tuck

The aim of Abdominoplasty is to remove sagging skin and excess fat from the middle and lower abdomen. This is in cases where excess fat and skin and sagging muscles have not been improved by diet and exercise

Commonly called a ‘tummy tuck’, the surgery can be very effective in reducing the bulge caused by excess skin and fact and loose abdominal muscles. The result is a flatter, firmer and shapelier abdomen.

This is a procedure available to both men and women.

Why would I choose to have a Tummy Tuck?

To correct abdominal abnormalities caused by pregnancy, obesity, extensive weight loss, trauma, tumours or other disease

• To correct or relieve structural defects of the abdomen
• To improve function of abdominal muscles
• To create a more normal appearance of the abdomen
• To remove a large and stressing apron of fat, called a ‘pannus’ that can cause chronic conditions such as dermatitis or difficulty in walking.
