Otoplasty  
A child or adult that has prominent ears can suffer issues with self-esteem. Large or protruding ears may concern people to wear their hair long to avoid teasing and cause such concern for adults that it may affect their relationships. Ear pinning (or Otoplasty) is a surgical procedure that changes the size and shape of the ears often placing them closer to the head. Commonly performed between the ages of five and 14, it can also be performed on adults of any age. A highly effective procedure, Otoplasty can improve both appearance and self-esteem. Otoplasty begins with an incision made behind the ear. The cartilage is re-shaped and then sutured or "pinned back" into place. When the position and desired shape has been achieved, the ears are dressed and left to heal. Otoplasty takes one to two hours to complete with most normal activities able to be resumed within two weeks.

Dr Valente was very nice, he helped me understand the procedure better as I think I over-research the procedure as was on the wrong path.
