Miss Sally Greenard - Physiotherapist at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Miss Sally Greenard

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Specialisations:
  Physiotherapy
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Sally is a physiotherapist in Littlehampton. She graduated from Southampton University in 2009 with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy and has specialised in musculoskeletal (MSK) care, with a particular interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation.

She spent four years as a physio at Worthing Rugby Club, then worked in London as a senior MSK physiotherapist in a large NHS department. There she helped run the service — writing treatment protocols, teaching staff and running education forums for local GPs. She treats people from about 10 to 90+ and uses manual therapy, mobilisations, acupuncture, taping and exercise rehabilitation.

Her aim is to help patients look after their own bodies and function at their best. Treatment is individual: a mix of approaches built around each person’s needs and goals.

She has moved back to the Sussex coast to join The Natural Health Centre.

Techniques

Manual therapy — joint mobilisation and manipulation to ease soft-tissue and joint problems, increase range of motion, reduce pain and inflammation, support repair and improve function.

Soft tissue therapy — massage and stretching to ease tension, restore movement, improve blood flow and lymph drainage, and support normal function.

Taping — specialist tape applied to the skin to help support bones and muscles while joints and soft tissues recover.

Acupuncture — used to release tight, tender muscles when massage pressure is too much. Needles are usually barely felt; often combined with other manual and soft-tissue work.

Exercise rehabilitation — tailored stretches and exercises to help the body return to normal function.

Miss Amelia Altenburger - Physiotherapist at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Miss Amelia Altenburger

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Specialisations:
  Physiotherapy
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Amelia is an MSK and pelvic floor physiotherapist in Littlehampton. She graduated from the University of Chichester with a BSc in Physiotherapy and is HCPC-registered. She treats patients of all ages and uses a holistic approach aimed at restoring quality of life.

She is qualified in musculoskeletal and pelvic floor physiotherapy, with a particular interest in women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction. Extra training with Mummy MOT and POGP supports her work with pre- and postnatal care, pregnancy, menopause, incontinence, pelvic pain and prolapse.

Her interest in physiotherapy began young: understanding how the body heals and helping people regain strength and confidence. Treatment plans look at the whole person and are tailored to each patient’s goals.

Outside work she enjoys running and an active lifestyle. She continues to develop her skills so she can offer a high standard of care.

Techniques

Pelvic floor physiotherapy — specialist care for women’s health, including pre- and postnatal, pregnancy, menopause, incontinence, pelvic pain and prolapse. Assessments can include pelvic floor examination, with tailored stretches, exercises, manual therapy and EmSella options.

Manual therapy — joint mobilisation and manipulation to treat soft tissues and joints, increase range of motion, reduce pain and inflammation, support repair and improve function.

Soft tissue therapy — massage and stretching to ease tension, restore movement, improve blood flow and lymph drainage, and support normal function.

Dr Alex Liu - at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Dr Alex Liu

Specialisations:
  Chiropractic
Languages:
  English, Mandarin
Biography:

Alex (Xinyue) is a chiropractor in Littlehampton. Born in China, she first trained as a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor, then moved to the USA for a four-year Doctorate in Chiropractic at Palmer College, with extra training in functional medicine and sports chiropractic. Before Littlehampton she worked in a chiropractic clinic in Bristol.

Her medical background led her to look for holistic, integrated and proactive care — chiropractic is how she offers that to patients. She treats people of all ages, from children with early scoliosis to older adults after joint replacement, as well as headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, sciatica and more.

In her free time she enjoys cooking for family and staying active with hiking, yoga and the gym.

Techniques

Motion Specific Technique — refined by Dr Tim Young, with whom Alex is training. Assessment finds the most stressed and restricted spinal areas; specific adjustments restore motion. May include joint “cracking” or “popping.” Her most-used method for typical presentations.

Diversified — gentle pulls, pushes and twists to ease joint restriction and adhesions. Mild clicking or popping can occur and is normal.

X-ray assessment — Alex reports on X-rays daily after extensive training. Imaging can be arranged at Chichester Chiropractic Health Centre when needed; on-site facilities in Littlehampton are planned.

Mr Jacopo Saia - at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Mr Jacopo Saia

Specialisations:
  Osteopathy
Languages:
  English, Italian
Biography:

Jacopo is an osteopath in Littlehampton, registered with the General Osteopathic Council and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. He holds a Master’s in Osteopathic Medicine from Kingston University, having also studied in Turin, Italy.

He treats patients of all ages and a wide range of conditions, combining structural, craniosacral and visceral osteopathy. Sessions may include soft-tissue massage, stretches, joint articulation, spinal manipulation, exercise advice and dry needling for muscle dysfunction and localised pain. Care starts by looking for the main causes of symptoms, then a plan tailored to the person, plus advice to help stop problems returning.

In 2021 he received the Institute of Osteopathy Rising Star Award for his commitment to the profession.

What osteopathy is

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment that aims to restore balance across the whole body, not only the site of symptoms. Touch, manipulation, massage and stretching are used to improve joint mobility, ease muscle tension and support blood and nerve supply so the body can recover.

What treatment is like

Treatment is gentle, precise and uses minimum force. You may also get stretches and lifestyle advice to keep the benefits going. Combining structural, craniosacral and visceral work aims to improve function, mobility and circulation around the injured area and support a fuller recovery.

People usually book because they feel restricted, have pain or discomfort, or want regular care to stay balanced — or a mix of these.

Mr Tim Davies - at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Mr Tim Davies

Specialisations:
  Audiology
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Tim Davies is a hearing aid audiologist in Littlehampton with more than ten years’ experience in high-street clinics, the NHS and hearing-aid manufacturing. He qualified with distinction from Aston University in 2016.

He started as a Hearing Care Assistant while studying, then spent several years with a leading manufacturer supporting NHS and private clinicians and mentoring colleagues. He later founded South Coast Hearing for independent, unhurried care: thorough assessment, clear advice and ongoing support, without being tied to one brand.

Appointments are built around lifestyle and what you want to hear more comfortably — not a standard package. At Littlehampton Natural Health Centre he offers hearing assessments, ear-wax removal, hearing-aid advice and fitting, and aftercare.

Services

Comprehensive hearing assessments

A conversation about hearing history and day-to-day listening, then otoscopy and video otoscopy, pure-tone audiometry, and speech tests (QuickSIN and AB word lists). Results and next steps are explained in plain language.

May help if speech sounds muffled, groups and restaurants are hard, the TV is turned up, you have tinnitus, you need a first proper test, current aids are falling short, or you want a baseline before treatment.

Ear-wax removal

After examination, Tim chooses microsuction, irrigation or manual removal — whichever is safest for that ear — to clear the canal and eardrum.

May help with a blocked or full feeling, reduced hearing after water or aid use, discomfort, visible wax, whistling or dull-sounding aids, or the need for a clear canal before a reliable test.

Hearing-aid advice and fitting

Recommendations follow your audiogram, lifestyle and preferences, including custom devices when they fit better. Fitting covers programming, use and care, and time for questions.

May help if you have confirmed hearing loss and want independent advice, are a first-time user, or want an upgrade, a more discreet aid, or a better fit for work, conversation or music.

Aftercare and support

Servicing, repairs, fine-tuning and maintenance for any make or model — you do not need to have bought the aids from Tim. He will say if he cannot help and suggest next steps.

May help if aids need retuning, repair, new domes or wax filters, or a review because hearing, comfort or lifestyle has changed.

Custom earplugs and hearing protection

Ear impressions and advice for sleep, swimming or noisy environments, so the product is comfortable enough to wear.

May help swimmers, light sleepers, musicians, DIY and industrial workers, motorcyclists, and anyone who needs reliable protection instead of generic plugs.

Medical referral

If findings meet BSA referral criteria, Tim refers to a GP or ENT rather than treating with aids or wax removal alone.

May help with sudden or one-sided hearing change, persistent pain or discharge, unusual otoscopy, or audiogram patterns that need a medical opinion first.

Mrs Heather Jenkins - at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Mrs Heather Jenkins

Specialisations:
  Massage Therapy
Languages:
  English
Biography:

Heather is a Level 4 sports massage therapist and qualified sports therapist in Littlehampton. She holds a first-class BSc in Sports Therapy from the University of Chichester.

She treats people of all ages, with or without a sporting background, to support recovery, range of motion and an active life. Techniques can include trigger-point work, instrument-assisted soft-tissue manipulation, muscle energy technique (MET), connective-tissue massage, soft-tissue release and stretching. The aim is better range of motion and functional movement, plus maintenance or rehabilitation.

She often works with other clinicians in the clinic and outside it. She also provides pitch-side care for a rugby club.

Outside work she trains at the gym and walks on the beach with her partner and their dog.

What sports massage is

Sports massage is the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues — muscles, tendons and ligaments. It is for anyone who wants to prevent or recover from a soft-tissue injury, not only athletes.

It may help circulation and lymphatic flow, clear metabolic waste, settle or stimulate nerve endings, change muscle tone or length, remodel scar tissue, and support mental preparation for sport. The same effects can ease everyday problems such as repetitive strain, sprains, tension and fatigue.

People usually book when they feel tight, sore or restricted, or they use regular deep-tissue work to stay flexible. A qualified therapist builds the session around you, and around the type and timing of your activity.

Ms Luana De Oliveira - at Littlehampton Natural Health Centre

Ms Luana De Oliveira

Specialisations:
  Massage Therapy
Languages:
  English, Portuguese
Biography:

Luana is a bespoke massage therapist in Littlehampton. Originally from Brazil, with Portuguese parents, she has spent the second half of her life in Europe. She is a mother of two boys and works to help people feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually through holistic therapies.

She is drawn to traditional healing methods and keeps adding them to her practice. Qualifications include holistic therapy massage, Ayurveda yoga massage, cupping, lymphatic massage, reflexology and Reiki, plus knowledge gathered while travelling. She also works as an energy-healing facilitator, blending techniques so each session can be tailored to the person. In her spare time she enjoys yoga.

Massage styles

Luana adapts technique and pressure to the client. Favoured approaches include:

Therapeutic massage — Swedish and deep-tissue work with trigger points, passive movement and stretches, to relax and destress. Can be combined with cupping, hot stones, foot massage or Indian head massage.

Lymphatic drainage — very gentle, rhythmic work to help lymph form and move under the skin.

Hot stone massage — smooth, heated basalt stones placed along the spine, in the hands, along the legs and between the toes.

Bamboo massage — bamboo used for deep-tissue or Swedish-style strokes, and sometimes combined with Thai, lymphatic, Ayurvedic or Shiatsu-style work.

Reflexology — treatment of the feet and hands based on maps of the body’s systems, aiming to balance the whole body.

Cupping — suction applied to restricted areas to support local circulation, ease swelling, pain and tension, and loosen fascia. Toxins are drawn toward the surface.

Pregnancy massage — prenatal work to ease physical tension, reduce stress and help prepare muscles for birth.

Reiki — light-touch energy work intended to support relaxation, balance and the body’s own recovery.

Trio therapy — a combined session for body, mind and emotions. It can include talking space, trigger-point work, reflexology, energy healing and Reiki, finishing with hot stones and sound. Aimed at people who feel out of balance after stress, trauma or emotional strain.
