In 1993 he obtained a Diploma in Osteopathy following a two-year course at The Oxford School of Osteopathy.  He was made a fellow of the College of Chiropractic and Dean of the faculty of Chiropractic Rehabilitation and Orthopaedics.  In 1993 he was listed in the London Evening Standard’s top 100 doctors in London, “The Best of British Men” and Debrette’s Peerage.

He was a lecturer for 15 years mostly in England, but also in Norway, Denmark, the USA and Canada.  He was a clinical examiner for 10 years and a moderator for the Council for National Academic Awards, the Open University and the University of Portsmouth.  He was Editor of the European Journal of Chiropractic, a member of the Executive of the European Chiropractors Union and a founder member of the European Council on Chiropractic Education.

He has been Treasurer of the British Chiropractic Association, Chairman of the Chiropractic Assessment Board and Chairman of the X-Ray Standards Committee.  In 1999 he was awarded the Presidents cup from the British Chiropractic Association for his services to the Chiropractic Profession.

He is presently a Director of the Charity Back Care, where he was Director of Research and has been a member of the Society for Back Pain Research since 1976.  He founded Sutton Chiropractic Clinic in July 1975, now one of the most successful clinics in Europe, and has worked with more than 40 associates, with branch practices in Crawley and Leatherhead.

Nicole Hammond-Preskett

Nicole Hammond-Preskett was born in Bournemouth but grew up in Sutton. She spent much of her childhood and adolescence involved in the Chiltern Health Centre in a number of capacities such as reception work, marketing, research and has now recently become a partner in the family business.

Nicole’s previous career was an IT account manager but left the industry after 10 years to become a full-time mum. When her daughter started school, Nicole decided to enter the health care profession, following the footsteps of her father, a chiropractor and osteopath and her brother, a chiropractor and medical doctor. She graduated from the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine with a first-class honors degree in Osteopathic Medicine where she developed a keen interest in shoulder complaints and care for the elderly.

She uses a number of treatment modalities in order to provide her patients with a high level of osteopathic care that is specific for the person and their complaint. These include manipulation, mobilisation, dry needling, soft tissue work, interferential treatment and therapeutic ultrasound.

Dr Sern Kjellberg

Originally from Denmark, Sern Kjellberg gained a diploma in Basic Science from the university of Odense (Denmark) before moving to England in 1990. He graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 1994 having obtained a BSc in Chiropractic. He has since furthered his chiropractic education in the paediatric field completing several courses on perinatal care of both the pregnant mother and the infant, including cranial therapy, as well as development problems of slightly older children. His other interests include sports chiropractic and rehabilitation of the spine following back pain. Furthermore, he has a keen interest in the differential diagnosis and management of headaches and low back disorders.

He is registered as a specialist with both BUPA and PPP and is a Member of the Paediatric Faculty of the College of Chiropractors.

Sern uses various techniques in his daily practice including ultrasound, dry needling and a host of diversified techniques.

Dr Oliver Forbes-Turner

Oliver Forbes-Turner was born in Westminster, London but grew up in Northumberland.  He had three years schooling over the border in Scotland before returning to Northumberland to finish his education.

For five years Oliver worked as an outdoor pursuits instructor with physically and mentally disabled people.  He assessed their individual needs and organised their activities for the week, which included sailing, canoeing, abseiling, horse riding and archery.

He subsequently moved to a large country estate in Northumberland overseeing its renovation. During this time he injured his back and consulted a local chiropractor who successfully treated him.  This is where he saw the ‘light’ which led to his interest in Chiropractic and his change in career path.

During his five year study at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic Oliver became interested in the role of rehabilitation and it’s importance in the management of low back and neck pain.  This area of research stimulated him enough to carry out his own investigation on the role of rehabilitation for spinal pain and he produced his dissertation on this topic.  Oliver specialises in the treatment of shoulder problems and sports injuries.  He has a keen interest in treating the “more mature” patient and care of the elderly.
