Treatment Received: Chiropractor Consultation
After 2/3 years of suffering with bad lower back pain, especially after a while of carrying out walking or other activities, I found relief from the first treatment and now don't have any severe back pain... I have had 4 treatments only and go for repeat treatments as necessary every 3 weeks...It was the nearest clinic to where I live.

Mr Richard Skippings

Biography:

Richard Skippings graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in 1985 and moved back to Yorkshire the same year to take up a position in the Roundhay Chiropractic Clinic in Leeds, where he worked for three years. He opened the clinic in Thirsk in 1988 when he was ready to branch out on his own and bring chiropractic to a new area. He has always been active in the work of the profession, both on the Council of the British Chiropractic Association and in the College of Chiropractors where he was invested as a Fellow of the College in 1999, and in 2004 he attained a Specialist Fellowship from the Sports Faculty. In January 2006 Richard was appointed as the Chairman of the Faculty of Sport & Exercise of the College of Chiropractors and in 2010 he was elected to serve for a second term of three years. He was also elected to serve as one of the Officers of the College as the Director of Specialist Faculties. In 2008 he was appointed to the Education Commission of the Federation Internationale de Chiropractique du Sport (FICS) with the remit of helping to organise and standardise post graduate education for Sports Chiropractors around the world. Richard has specific responsibilities within Europe.

As you can see Richard has a particular interest in Sports Medicine. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, has been awarded the International Chiropractic Sports Science Diploma and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine from Sheffield University. This enables him to utilise different therapies and techniques as well as his chiropractic expertise, so as to provide the athlete with optimum care. He is an honourary life member of the British Chiropractic Sports Council and Team Chiropractor for the British Masters Athletic Federation having been in attendance at British and European Outdoor and Indoor Championships and at five World Championships. He was also in attendance at the 2000 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Sheffield. In his spare time Richard is a Hockey Umpire, officiating in the Premier Division of the Yorkshire Mens Hockey League. He is also a Level 1 Umpire coach and serves as the Umpire Development Co-ordinator for the North Yorkshire Hockey Development Group. He is a member of the Yorkshire Young Umpire Action Group which encourages and develops umpiring in young people. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Yorkshire Hockey Association.

Jessica is a graduate of the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of Glamorgan where she successfully completed a four year undergraduate degree course. After spending her early years in Venezuela she was brought up in Retford, Nottinghamshire where her interest in chiropractic and its approach to health care was stimulated after receiving treatment for a low back condition.

Jessica has conducted a study into "the prevalence of dysmenorrhoea within a chiropractic patient population." This area of womens health is a subject that is little researched and which she would like to investigate further. She has also had a case study of a patient presenting with low back pain who had a "Porcelain Gallbladder" published in the prestigious chiropractic journal "The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics." As an extension of this interest Jessica is able to conduct Food Intolerance tests. For some people this is an importannt part of their care as an intolerance to certain food stuffs can cause many different symptoms.

Paediatric care is also an area of special interest having attended many seminars and workshops in this subject she has developed her expertise in this field and sees a growing number of children and babies.

Ms Stacey Lambert

Stacey grew up in Romanby, near Northallerton, and was inspired into the field of complementary therapies whilst undertaking her first work experience at a local practice during her GCSE and A Level courses at Northallerton College.  She graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BSc degree in Acupuncture and is particularly interested in sports injuries. Stacey’s spare time interests include keeping fit, running and watching football.

Claire Morley

Biography:
Claire graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic with a Masters degree. She grew up in the Norfolk area so is well used to life in Market towns. She has always been interested in health care and the main inspiration for her to become a chiropractor was through experiencing the benefits that both her parents received from chiropractic care. Claire aspires to bring a patient-centred approach to her patient care and seeks to continue learning and to grow professionally. Claire also has a particular interest in functional rehabilitation and paediatrics. In her spare time she likes to keep fit and enjoys horse riding and running.
